The Start!
Hi there! I would like to present to you guys the start of PlayStation®Nation Forums. In this thread, I will give you guys a 'low-down' of what is in the start of PSNF.
But first, and foremost, there are a couple of people I would like to give thanks to. Which is:
I would like to give thanks, once again to these guys who made PSNF possible in many ways. Thank you guys.
What PSNF is set to be
The main view of PSNF is quite magical in a way. I mean, this idea of bringing a community together has been a quite a challenge. It also has been a very fun experience.
PSNF is set to be one of the world's best place to connect with other users through PlayStation®. I, as the administrator, has really put out a lot for this forum. I hope for this forum to be the best community out there in terms of being a PlayStation® fan.
I also hope to have a very long run with PSNF. I really do.
To add on to this part of the thread. I will explain how PSNF became to be.
About 3-4 years ago PSNF was just an idea. An idea that stood embed in my mind for quite a long time. I had this idea of trying to organize a place to have all gamers connect. So they will not only play games with each other, but also socialize with each other.
Now, a lot of people just may think, 'Well, here it is. A forum.' when it isn't really like that.
When PSNF was first brought out into the light, I started where maybe all other administrator of a forum started. A free-forum provided by free-forum hosts. Which in-fact wasn't much of a good plan. With VERY limited modifications, and whatnot, PSNF couldn't grow in such an environment.
Therefore, PSNF died. A great idea, wasted. Or so I thought.
One day, about 3 years after the free-forum, my Cable Provider (TV), has givin us an offer. Which was, pay more, get more. Therefore, if I was to pay more, I can in-fact get a domain name, with web-space. I thought instantly, 'This is my chance!' So PSNF was then born. Now you may think, 'That's it.' Well, frankly it isn't. Just ask Lego, and Wildride.
With a whole new world to explore, I needed to make PSNF unique. Therefore, I needed to learn more than what I knew in terms of running a forum.
So, it took about a couple of months for me to get use to a lot of HTML, CSS, PHP, etc. Now you may be thinking to yourself, 'What does that have to do with this?' Well, to let you know, I wasn't going to just open PSNF with a default style, or no modifications installed correctly.
So, I took it upon myself to learn such codes so I can easily navigate to solve certain problems and make this forum the best, and most efficient forum to be in.
I am a very organized person. Which I will prove here in PSNF. Which is also a good quality in terms of being an administrator.
Back to the story. Well, now that I have worked on all of that. I still made a lot of mistakes through out the process of creating PSNF.
So, as Lego, and Wildride know. PSNF has in-fact been restarted MANY times. Which wasn't good at all.
Now, we finally catch our break. PSNF has FINALLY been formed to become a great forum.
That is how PSNF has came to be.
PSNFv1 Features
Ok, let's get into the fun part of the thread! What is in PSNFv1! Now, before I get into this there will be some modifications that will be named here. KNOW, that all these modifications belong to their respective owners. If they do not, I will notify you in this thread.
Ok now. This forum features some great modifications. Which are:
PSNF Network
PSNF Network is a very big feature here in PSNF. With this feature I hope to take PSNF to a very big level.
PSNF Network is a way to try and bring the community more together. PSNF Network will have competitions, events, and a lot more.
Let's start with the basics.
PSNF Network is basically a way to keep users interacting with each other. PSNF will include a leaderboard, and seasonal competitions.
Note: When I said, 'seasonal competitions', I don't mean 'Winter','Spring',etc.
Let's start with the Seasonal Competitions.
PSNF will have seasons (I.E. PSNF Network Season 1, and so on). Every month I will put up a competition based on ONE game. Within this month there will be events. Just on that one game. These events will only be based on online multi-player games.
Don't worry, I will have a poll of what games should be on the current season for every season.
Anyway, there will be about 4-5 events per season. So be prepared!
Now, PSNF Network will include a 'seasonal' leaderboard. Which allows users to see their current score on that one season. After the season is done and over with, the leaderboard will be wiped clean, till the next season.
Another thing that PSNF Network will have is 'parties'. Once in awhile, PSNF will announce a PSNF Home event. Where all users from PSNF can stop at 'my place' in PlayStation®Home and have a nice time! We will also walk around and maybe play some pool, or some bowling.

To wrap up this neat introduction to what is PSNF, and what does PSNFv1 has. I would like to say I hope to meet new and active people.
I hope PSNF attracts many great gamers, and fun new people. I also hope for PSNF to have a nice LONG run. Also, I hope for every new member to accept me as a administrator, as I will accept you as a member of PSNF.
I am a friendly person. So don't be scared of me only because I am titled as the 'Administrator'. I am human too.

PSNFv1 Features

Ok now. This forum features some great modifications. Which are:
- jQuery Quick Edit
The jQuery Quick Edit mod allows the user to edit their post in a very flashy way. With the click of the 'QuickEdit' button, a pop-up window will fade-in and allow you to edit your message. Pretty neat, right!?
- Categorize Announcements and Stickies
This modification is very useful. It splits up the announcement threads from the sticky threads, as well as the global announcements. Which will allow the user to have easy navigation to certain threads.
- Reputation Modification
With this modification, the users are allowed to have reputation, and give reputation. For example; If a user posted a article that a lot of other users like, they can then give that user reputation points. You can also lose reputation from others as well. Which will bring your points down.
- Mini-Chat
Like to have a nice live chat with your fellow friends? Well, this is a great modification in terms of chatting. With this there will be a chat-box displayed at the bottom of the forum for users to chat with others. There is also a large chat-box which will have it's own page. So you can chat more, and view more.
- Trophy System
This modification will play a big role in this forum. With the Trophy System users will be able to win certain trophies for certain achievements. For example, if you reach 10,000 posts, you can win a trophy. Which will be displayed in your mini-profile, and in your profile page. So everyone can know what trophies you've won. There will also be trophies for PSNF Network. More info on PSNF Network below!
- Full Quick Reply Editor
This is a neat modification. Instead of going into the posting page to have full access of everything, you can just go to the bottom of the page and post with full functionality!
- Rules Page
This one is very important. This modification allows us to have a Rules Page. Instead of having a thread based on the rules, we will have a whole page based on the forum Global rules.
- Custom BBCodes
PSNF has added some custom BBCodes. Which will make this forum more user-friendly. There will be some BBCodes hidden from public view because they will only be used by staff members.
PSNF Network
