Well I noticed a few forums that have no posts in them so it's best to either get topics started in those forums or hide them until you are ready to do so. Empty forums look bad on a board. I don't see why you need a forum for a PS 4 vs Xbox 1 debate as that can essentially be handled by being a single thread in either the Xbox or PS forum. I noticed there is no general gaming forum for discussions that aren't focused on one of the big three currently active consoles on the market which might make for a nice fit in the gaming category. Otherwise it looks like a nice forum so good luck with it.
Thank you and I will take your Ideas on board what you said. I just thought with the Xbox Vs PS4 because there is always someone who thinks Xbox is better or someone thinking PS4 is better. Maybe your right I will scrap that and have other discussions.
If you want brutal honesty, I think you're opening a forum in a heavily saturated niche with nothing that sets you apart. You are fighting a VERY uphill battle as even if you did grow, you'll be running into the likes of Digital Point and Shawn over there is a a boss with SEO. Threads on the DP boards hit Google in a matter of minutes, if not seconds.
Nearly EVERY Niche is 'very saturated' at this point.....telling him that is like telling him not to open a forum because "there are others out there".
To OP: Off the top of my head, getting a new theme would be a great start. Using the default Xenforo theme isn't overly appealing IMHO.
He asked for honesty did he not? There is nothing on his site that sets him apart from those out there. In fact, there is nothing on his site that would make someone coming in off of Google want to register. People in SEO would go to Google, type in SEO forum and once they see the first 4-5 results, his goose is cooked.
He needs to go back to the drawing board and come up with something fresh otherwise he is going to put a lot of time and effort into a loser. Sometimes people need to hear honesty and not people blowing smoke up their skirts.
Further, his forum somehow has 235 Facebook likes but only has 211 posts. How does that compute? It doesn't. And changing the theme won't magically turn the site into a winner. When you're in a saturated niche, you either have to have groundbreaking content or unique features to draw people in and make his website sticky. That site has neither.
