Hi,

I am thinking about making a logo for my forum, the idea I have right now is a cartoon version image, which is a boy and a girl hugging in a friendly way. Would you please give me some idea how to make this logo? I'm not good in painting actually, so I wonder if it's possible to make this cartoon image just through photoshop?

Regards

Happy

I've been using photoshop for couple of years, but mostly just modification of some existing images. Now I'm thinking to make some design by my own, which seems quite interesting. Thanks for the link, I went to the topic and had a look. Do you draw the image first by pen or some pad, then connect it with pc for further design?

I make the image fully through photoshop by working with lines and shapes to create logos.

Wow, that sounds great! May I ask when you started learning and using photoshop? I've been using photoshop for couple years actually , but was mostly modifying some existing images. Now I have started designing something by myself. I am not good in drawing, but guess it's still okay to work with photoshop with the tools, right ?

I've started learning and using photoshop years ago. Yes, its still ok to work with the tools in photoshop.

Okay, thanks. Did you learn to use photoshop by some courses, friends , or through some tutorial online ? One friend taught me the basic things, then I was reading tutorial articles online.

YouTube tutorials were helpful and constructive criticism from users in other GFX Forums.

Oh okay, thanks for the information, I will look for some tutorial videos in youtube then. I watched one couple of days ago, also recommended by someone in a forum, the tutorial was okay, just he was speaking a little fast, gotta find some videos in which they speak in average speed.

If your looking for professional videos and avg. speed go to: http://psd.tutsplus.com/

Hi thanks for the link, it looks useful! By the way, I wonder if you also download patterns from some website? Coz in the video I watched couple of days ago, the guy said he had downloaded some patterns from somewhere. I wonder if generally photoshop users download some other tools for photoshop, such as patterns, etc.?

There's no tools that initially give you patterns, but you can download them and add them to your photoshop presets directory you can even make your own in photoshop; you could also, add brushes, gradients and more...

Yea I noticed there are just two patterns available in photoshop cs5, so it's better to add some more patterns, and maybe also brushes, gradients as you mentioned. Do you design them by yourself or download from somewhere?
