Please help!

i recently set up a forum : http://www.godeal4me.com/forum but i cannot install a theme on it! ive read countless tutorials on the net but no luck! i simply cannot get my theme to show up in the styles in my admin control panel.

im also using or trying to use and acid tech style,.

i would greatly appreciate any help on this as i believe the instalation of this new team would seriuosly boost my forums reputation!

Are you sure you uploaded the folder e.g: 'MyTheme' which has imageset, templates, theme and style.cfg to your 'Styles' folder?

well see the acid folder has 2 extra folders in it at the same level as the imageset, templates and thems folders which are called admin and images. there is also loads more of files in the folder that i dont know what to do with.

anyone know whats going on?

Go into the style tab in the ACP, if you see the template, make sure it's not activated, then delete all the files you uploaded for the theme and re-upload them to /styles/, refresh the styles tab in the ACP, it should appear, hit "activate".

If that doesn't work, it's probably because your not uploading it properly, as there's no reason for it to fail.

im uploading the folder acid theme that i unzipped after downloading the theme and im uploading it to the styles folder in the forums database with file manager!....

i really need to get thsi done

Use an FTP program, the file managers usually miss a few files, and seeing there's quite a large amount of items in a style, it might miss a few, therefore causing you installation errors.

i am using an ftp program! file zilla to be exact! still no luck, any ideas why? do the files have to be in specific folders or something?\

perhaps it is something to do with the style version and the forum version, for example my forum version is 3.0.1

Can you send me the acidtech theme and create me an FTP account with /styles/ permissions so i can see what the problem is, if you trust me enough of course.

hey thankyou nathan, you seem to be a gunuine person who genuinely wants to help!

im ok now tho! i found out that the theme has to match my forum version! so i installed a carbon 3.0.1 theme/style! haha now i gotta update my forum version so i can install the acid tech theme! mabe a different day tho, one step at a time!

You should consider updating as 3.0.1 is quite behind.
