Good health forum for discussing pain. It has several threads regarding body pain, Knee pain, Neck pain... and many others like these.

Sorry about the wait, had Family related issues. Here is the review.

Basic Review of Pain Discussion Forum

Review by Joshua Farrell

First Impressions: (4 out of 15)
Honestly, there is nothing here on the first visit that makes me say, "Wow, this is the forum I want to go to for medical advice from other people!" It feels bland. Sure, the image in the header links to it being health related, but it doesn't make me think of a forum to discuss how to tackle pain in general. If you were going for a look that doesn't have blaring features and other stuff, then that theme is fine. Otherwise, it doesn't have that look that will imprint much success from first looks.

You don't even have that much on it right now, so that doesn't help that much.

Site Structure: (7 out of 15)
The structure of the forum itself is good, BUT and this is a big but, you need to include periods in your board descriptions! Also, you need to be less generic with the board descriptions themselves (common, "Discuss chronic pain related issues" in the Chronic Pain board? You can elaborate a little on this).

design%20quality.png
Design Quality: (7 out of 15)
Design quality wise, it looks rather bland. I expected something more from the forum, than a generic free theme, that the only thing that was "custom" so to say, was the banner. Add more graphics to it, to help people identify more with what the forum is about! For example, if you can find a nice small medical related image, you could use two versions of that image for the old and new images for each board. Also, it might help if you find a new image for the header banner, that could have someone at the doctor's office for pain related issues.

originality%2016x16.png
Originality: (12 out of 15)
As far as originality goes, I haven't seen many forums out there that are made to serve people with medical issues, so kudos to you for that idea! Eventually you will need a news board, as that is the only non original thing that I can see that needs to be added at some date in the future.

Overall Mark: (30 out of 60)
If you can change your graphics around to better match your forum genre, that can help. Best bet, find good images that can go with your selected theme. Also, try to add more topics to each board you have, as that will help you out in the long term. Though board descriptions aren't always looked at, it would still be wise to finish the punctuation to them, and possibly make them a little bit more descriptive.

All in all, you have a good idea, but you need to better jump on putting together some final touches, so that it doesn't look like a generic forum on the world wide web.

I have to agree with Josh. It does look very bland to me. I also noticed in the logo, you're missing a comma before "etc" and you're missing periods after every sentence in the forum descriptions.

Good luck with your forum! 😉

I just popped in for a fast look. ^^^^^ is correct in that you should fix your punctuation a bit. Your upside down. Your Intro, and related, area should be on top I would think. Looks like you didn't even introduce yourself.

Are you in the medical field? What's your experience? You should throw up a disclaimer that the site is intended for members opinions only and the user should always consult their PCP. I don't think you are qualified to give me advice on any of my Ortho work and that I am looking for Pain Alternatives,,,just giving you an example.

Some people really look up medical info in the net and ask for help on certain things and may actually take your "advice" and harm can result. You should only be giving an opinion as stated. Nobody should be actually using the web for anything medical actually. I won't even look up a simple pill on the web and in the hands of someone that is really OCD or has been diagnosed with Somatoform Disorder this could be dangerous.

Even with my education I would never give advice to anyone online, or even a neighbor I know. Someone might think I am a substitute for seeking proper treatment. Makes me a bit woozy on the thought of that.
