Please suggest rules for ad bumping in a business forum?

The advertising section of Business Advice Forum is getting busier all the time. We currently don't have any clear policies, as regards to members bumping their ads.

Do you have any suggestions as to what kind of rules we should introduce for bumping ads?

Should we allow ad bumps daily, weekly or not at all?

I would recommend weekly.

If it is annoying you then weekly, but if you allow it to happen every 24 hours then your posts on BAF will increase greatly.

I'd go for 48 hours or a week, really it depends on what you think though.

I think that the busier it is the smaller the bump limit is. I would say on your site every 48 hours as topics do go onto page 2 quite quickly.

I agree with Fowler, 48 hours. That way its not a really short time but its not a huge amount of time either 🙂

I agree. Most advertisement sites I've been on have a 24-48 hour bumping rule. I think that seems to be plenty of time, really.
