Plug netbook into desktop?

I have a netbook which i use at school then a desktop at home, and i was wondering if i brought a male to male usb cable would it recognize the netbook as a hard drive so i can easily transfer files between the two?

I don't believe it will. You can get a external HDD (such as MyPassport) and then download everything to it and then plug into your desktop.

i have a external hdd it would of just been easier to see the certain file i need on one screen

You need to buy a USB to USB transfer cable like this one: http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage. ... _Id=275561

I think they cost about 10-20+ dollars.
