We decided that for now we would withdraw the free plan, as announced on the 31st May here: http://clients.plutohosting.net/announc ... -14th.html

This is because people were signing up and then just abandoning their accounts, which was causing a lot of work clearing it all up, especially when you have to try and keep contacting the owner about their site and don't get a reply back because you would be surprised how much blank accounts can really use, especially when it comes to the user names for your cPanel accounts.

Also the newer server that PH currently is on is more expensive, and because free hosting accounts do not pay the bills it was decided that we would drop new orders of the free plan completely in order to encourage more people to order paid hosting, who happen to get more features than the free plan users anyway.

To help encourage new paid orders, there may be a trial plan set up. However, even if you are unhappy with your paid account, you have the 14 day money back guarantee and you can cancel your account at any time.

I'm presuming you were the person I spoke to on our live chat system earlier, if that is the case then as I said to you earlier in the chat, it might be back in the future with a small set up fee in place instead. However, for now it has been removed from our website and client area and no new orders/re-creations will be made to the free plan.

1. The old server has now been deactivated, but we can reactivate it and transfer your data if you believe your account was not transferred correctly or if you need your site transferring.

2. All our Domains have been successfully transferred to namecheap with no disruptions what so ever.

3. All price rises have been made and the Quartly prices have changed slightly, if you have any questions regarding the billing, please feel free to contact us.

4. Custom plans are now available to order. Our Custom Standard Hosting Plan starts from as low as 0.20 GBP or 0.20 USD a month! Our Custom Reseller Hosting Plan starts from as low as 3.00 GBP or 3.00 USD a month!

5. cPanel-VPS plans are now available to order again, but you must agree to the fact the TOS, AUP and other Policies will be completely changed throughout the next week or so.

6. As it's now the 14th, new orders for the free plan have been disabled. Once your free plan gets terminated, there will be no way to get it back, so if your account is on the old server still by the time its terminated on the 26th, then you will not be able to get another free account from us.

7. The main site, forums and client area are currently all residing on the same server until we get another reseller or VPS hosted off network. Plutohosting.info is currently on another server but still resides on the same node so will go down if there is a problem with the node (which hopefully won't happen).
 
Due to lack of usage from our clients, and spammers trying to attempt to join the TopSites list, I have made the decision to remove it from the website.

The link will be removed from the website and replaced with a new page selling cPanel dedicated servers starting from £110.00 GBP // $160.00 USD monthly.

We hope to start selling these by the end of the month, so do keep an eye out for updates on this.

I apologise for any inconveniences that this may cause genuine clients who took the time to register their sites and I hope it has helped you gain some traffic.

Hello everyone, due to recent rises in fees, we are going to be making drastic changes to the Pluto Hosting Invoicing system, and numerous other changes, all the details are below:

  1. Plan & Pricing Changes - Unfortunately due to raises in fees, we will be dropping support of the £1.00 GBP // $1.00 USD Plan, however we will be making huge plan changes, more details will follow later.
  2. Enabling of Pro-Rata to the 24th - All hosting plan invoices will now be due for the 24th. Addons will not be pro-rated and will not be affected by this change.
  3. New Legal Terms - Yes, We have re-written our Terms of Service and re-structured it, more details will also follow later
  4. Our Late Payment Fee will now be 25% and there will also be a £10.00 GBP // $10.00 USD Root Lock Suspension Unlock Fee
  5. Server Clean Up - We will be purging the servers of accounts that are suspended and/or are not pointing to our DNS. This may happen sooner if we have to move datacenter. More details will follow later
  6. There will be DNS Changes made to include our second server and some clients may be shifted to it.
  7. The support board & client area will be moved to the second server
  8. The Payment Processing Fee will to Raise to 15%, all client accounts currently not paying this will have it re-enabled and the following discounts will be made to the relevant groups instead:
    • Loyal Customer Discount to change to be 15%, effectively getting the payment processing fee free with maybe a few pence/cents difference.
  9. Introduction of extra rewards for referring clients via the affiliates system
  10. Live Chat business hours times will be introduced.

This will require some DNS changes and the details are as follows:

NS2.PLUTOHOSTING.NET - 67.228.177.202 (our backup reseller account IP hosted off network)
NS3.PLUTOHOSTING.NET - 62.19.47.13 (new server secondary IP)
NS4.PLUTOHOSTING.NET - IP to be updated (spare main server IP)

If you are pointing to our services via an A record, then you need to alter these to point to 62.19.47.12 unless told otherwise.

Please note that although the above nameservers and IPs have been confirmed, they may be subject to change, any updates will be posted to this thread.


Please note that not all accounts will be transferred to the new server, if your account is suspended or not pointed to our DNS, then your account will not be transferred

The transfer has now been completed and I have deactivated the old server, so should you be greeted with a connection time out or unable to connect message, then your DNS has not updated

If your site was not transferred, it is probably because of one of the following reasons:
1.) Your site was in violations our terms.
2.) Your site was blank.
3.) Your domain was not pointing to our servers DNS.

If you feel your site should have been transferred and it has not, please send us a support ticket ASAP to resolve the issue.

We have been getting reports that some peoples files & folders on their sites are returning a 403 forbidden error.

We are unsure with what has caused this error but it can be easily fixed by re CHMODDING your files/folders to the correct CHMOD permissions.

Files should be CHMODDED to 644 for them to be correct read & executed by the world & editable by you.

Also, folders should be CHMODDED to 755 for them to be correct read & executed by the world & editable by you.

Please note that there is no need for files/folders to be at 777 because we have suphp installed on the server which alters how the PHP script is run to make it safer to use on your site/server.

Hello everyone,

I am pleased to announce that our main site http://www.plutohosting.net is now using the namecheap DNS system, rather than relying on its own name servers on the server.

This should mean that if the DNS was to fail on the server or the server goes down for any reason, the client area & support board should in theory stay up as the DNS is being housed at namecheap instead of our server.

During the time that the DNS updates on your end to be housed at namecheap, you may find our sites go down for a bit, but hopefully it shouldn't because the IPs have not changed.

Should the sites remain down giving a server not found message or our name servers fail to get detected properly, you should contact us immediately as this is only a trial run and if this trial proves to be unsuccessful, we will switch back to our own name servers.
 
Pluto Hosting now has an official Facebook page! It will be used to let everyone know what's going on just like the Twitter. This will help the people that don't have Twitter as they can get updates right to their news feed when they get on Facebook. This will also be available when Twitter isn't working for some reason.
