We know that different country has different colored uniforms for police officials. Here in India, its khaki colored whereas in America it is black (as far as I know). Which color do you think best suits cops?

I think the best color for police personal is black. Its a proud color as well as something that helps cops pass undetected while on night patrol.

Your thoughts?

America isn't the same, each department is different. They have brown, black, white and even some odd colors. Same for there police cars each department has different car skins. Not like other country's that they keep the same uniform for the full country other then the location name.

I gotta say that the UK are the best, They tend to standout allot, even in the dark you can see them

We had black polos and tactical 511s. Black sucks with the vests because of the heat.

Yeah, in the U.S. it varies from department to department. Blue and black are two of the most common colors, though. White is also often used but only for higher ranking officers. In rural departments you will be more likely to see brown or khaki colored uniforms. I think they're all fine choices.

Ours is usually a blue color. Though I have seen a few upper ranked police have a different colored shirt.

I think the color doesn't matter much. The most that matters is the service that we get from them.

I have seen Sky Blue. At the UAE, they use green color for high ranking officers and white shirt with black pants for the lower downs.

Well, my uniform is a black shirt and khaki pants for class "B" and "C", and my class "A" is all black. That's for the sheriff's department though. The police departments around here wear navy blue. I like all of them.

No, I've not seen any "target" colored yellow uniforms as of yet. I'll let you know if I do! 😱

Black here. I'd prefer them to wear blue personally. I think the black color is part of an increasingly military mindset that a lot of police departments have. Wearing blue would better remind them of their role as peacemakers, not warriors, IMO. But that's just me, and I guess a color doesn't make too much of a difference.

Not the case with our department. Sheriff makes sure we present ourselves as civil authorities.

In my state we have all kinds of colors. Some wear black like metro cops and others wear blue, like state troopers, but sheriffs wear khaki color...I think each color has a role with it. That way you can identify each by which entity they work for.

I prefer black. As it hides any blood.

I think black looks the best but there are also cops that wear khaki color in my area too. I don't know the difference between the two other than the color.
