It's pains me something awful to do this but my community deserves a better administrator than I have been to them. I am completely burned out of the topic of politics now and it's getting to the point where I'm reluctant to even visit anymore. So with that in mind, and the need to reduce my personal debts before I leave the US Military, I have made hthe decision to sell it. You can see the site in my signature here.
**Also I suppose I should note that the burn out has nothing to do with this site. I've been debating online for over 5 years and I'm stretched over a number of boards. It just happens lol. I'm getting out the military so I need to move on.
The domain is PoliticalDebateForums.com. It runs Vbulletin 4.2 and no the license is not coming along with it (I may try a different forum niche and I would like to keep it). It has 556 members, 5594 threads, and 85487 posts. Many of the users are big name debaters that you'll see on other forums and are recognizable. If you can engage them they will posts in thousands. However the community is only 6 months old and I wasn't able to put much time into engaging them.
I did put some adsense ads on the site. I'm not good at monetizing nor do I care if I actually get any money out of it. However income ranges from $0.05 - 2.00 a day depending on activity and what you do. Mostly in the low range but I've had some good days where that 2 dollar mark was reached. As the community grows so will earning potentials. As you can see from the graph I will post these past few days have been making a few cents even though I haven't even visited the community. So activity will definitely help the place.
The community is branded and the domain is very good SEO wise. I have people who register randomly off Google all of the time. The logo design is custom made and I have all of the original files for editing it and using it in other ways. It has 5 themes, 4 of which we're custom designed by yours truly writing this post, and the last one being VB default. The banner at the top is something I change every month to keep the community fresh and looking good and I can guide you on how you can easily edit that each month as well.
I am willing to volunteer and stay on as a Super Moderator if that sort of thing is needed however the new admin will need to drive the community themselves. In other words I cannot be the activity guy.
I suppose analytics are always a good thing to add to these threads. The community gets a fair amount of traffic. It is not inactive and with the political season growing the traffic always gets better in this niche as common folk who do not usually debate or seek such things out find themselves with a new interest. You wont see terribly much for the 2014 Midterms but with the 2015 Presidential Campaigns starting expect to see much more. A well driven community, with great SEO, and activity will have no problem becoming bigger.
This site succeeds because I allow for free speech. While many of the other communities on the web are known for biased and over reaching moderation I mostly let these users do what they want within reason. There's a very basic rule set and they usually have no problems following it. With the political niche you have to let them argue and debate, and sometimes it gets nasty, but you only want to break it up when it starts growing into a problem. It's a different sort of beast than any other forum niche in my opinion. It takes thick skin because users will come to you. They expect you to be vigilant and visible.
I do not have a set budget in mind so I cannot offer a BIN. I would recommend Private Messaging me with questions, negotiations, and making offers. Please do not low ball me as I don't usually reply to such responses. This forum is the only place it's being sold right now so what you see here is what is happening.
