When you go to a Forum, do like to be shown directly to the Board Index or to a Portal Page?
I noticed that this is a very important matter in a lot of forums, and I'd like your opinions.

I prefer to be directly taken to the index. I don't care for portal pages, and think that they just get in the way of what I clicked the link for -- a forum.
It depends what kind of website it is really. If it's for gaming reviews, articles etc then I prefer landing on a portal/home page. If it's a regular forum, I prefer going straight to it.
I don't mind portals on forums, but it depends on how they look though. I mean, if there's too much junk and it looks overly cluttered, then I'd rather be taken to the main index right away. If it doesn't look too bad, like the layout looks nice and things like that, then I don't mind. Sometimes portals are fun to browse around more than the actual site at times, but again, it all depends on what's put on them.
