Recently I've been working on a portfolio website, where I will show all the projects I have worked on. However, I can't think up of a domain name for it. The first obvious choice was my name, but that is taken. Do you have any other ideas that I could use? Please bear in mind this will not only be used online, but also when doing things like applying for jobs, so I would like it to remain professional.

I'd prefer a .com, as if I can't find a good one I will just use my name with a different extension.

Hmm, thanks for the suggestion.

Here is another question: My name is Matthew Watson, and due to the two 'm's in the middle it looks odd. What do you think is better:

matthewwatson
matthewatson

I wouldn't just use one w, people will think your name is Atson. You want it to be obvious. matthewwatson.com or .me would be excellent choices.

I would remove one w as it sounds odd and it won't matter much atson or Watson for anyone out USA/UK but it matters mathewwatson(seems unprofessional and spammy) or mathewatson, but the choice is yours 🙂

matthewwatson.tld doesn't count spammy at all, one technique that is obvious to make things seem more obvious is to capitalize when you post your link, for example: MatthewWatson.tld

If you're worried about it looking weird, you could always go for Matthew-Watson.tld. 🙂

I would think a hyphen would look worse than two w's. 😉

mattwatson.[tld]
itsmattwatson.[tld]
mattwat.[tld]
matthew-watson.[tld]

etc.
