This is just an idea I had for a long time. At first, I imagined it as a website consisted mostly of images and videos, but it can be done with a forum and a portal plugin for a forum (SMF for example).
I will lay out the idea, you can steal it if you want, and I will help you with whatever.
I WAS very active on a lot of forums in the past, but the one of the more important reasons I quit forumming(is that a word? well, now it is) was for the negativity all around that community. The negativity consists of course from: too much sarcasm, cruel intentions, ego-boosted moderators, very strictly enforced rules etc. I'm just sick of it.
The "Positivity forum" that I'd like to be a member of would have one and only rule: be nice! It can have several categories (could be a general/off-topic forum), but the main categories would be motivational stories, happy stories, nice things, animals, beautiful stuff (places on earth), happy activities (like yoga for example) etc.
I understand that people can't be positive all the time, we all have problems and negativity in our life - but we can control what and when we actually write something. A good rule would be - if you plan to post a comment with a negative intent or you are in a negative mood - just don't post anything. Try to read the stuff that's actually on the forum and relax.
If someone makes a mistake like posting in a wrong category, it's fine, the moderators will just move the topic and notify the user IN A NICE WAY through a PM.
If someone makes a grammatical mistake, don't be a grammar nazi, just let him be. You can still understand what he actually wrote.
You get the point. Positive, nice, motivational forum.
I have one example (that I know of, maybe there are more) where people on that forum are actually nice and are always there to help without any negative comments or reactions, even if your question or actions are wrong or stupid, and that forum is TalkBudgies. I'm not trying to spam the forum, I'm not even an active member on it. Actually I just go there when I need help and people there HELP ME, without asking for anything in return, even if I'm wrong for whatever reason.
I understand that most of you will think that your community or forum is a nice place, but I'm looking for a forum where the whole point of the forum is BEING NICE. And no strict rules - other then - BE NICE.
So anyway, what do you guys think about this?
