As you know we have a lot going on with my mom right now recovering from surgery. I'm feeling a little burnt out between real life stress and the stress of running a forum and trying to keep it active. I'm disabling Chatting Time for now but might just go on and delete altogether. Most likely the latter. I'm very sorry about this but right now I just can't do it anymore and I don't want to convert with anyone. Good luck with your projects and we'll see you soon.

I’m sorry things are still rough. Hope it gets better soon, Ashley.

Sorry to hear! I hope everything gets better. If you want to keep it around and need someone to look over things let me know. I don’t mind helping out.

Sorry to hear this. I hope everything gets better for you. Take your time with things and definitely use this time to focus on real life things. 🌸

So sorry to hear this, that's tough. You do not want to overburden yourself so it sounds like you made the right choice for you & your family.

Aw, find a way that you can bring it to life later if you feel like it, so there's no regrets.

Prayers for your mom!

Honestly, you don't need to apologize to anyone. Nothing on your computer screen will ever be more important than your health and well-being. If hitting pause on your community for a while is going to make things better for you overall, then nobody will fault you for doing that. At the end of the day, it's a hobby. That being said, my PMs are always open if you need any help, forum-related or otherwise.

That's completely understandable Ashley! Life comes before anything else, I pray and hope your mother gets better soon! If you ever change your mind in the future and want to revive Chatting Time, we'll be here.

Hey guys, Ashley here since I can't remember login details so logged in thru Google at the moment. Thanks for all the kind thoughts and words. I just know if I do start over it likely won't be SMF next time, it wasn't hard to work with per se, but trying to remember where things were in the acp was a headache.

I’m really sorry to hear things have been so overwhelming lately, @Ashley . Real life always comes first, and when you’re dealing with family health issues on top of the day‑to‑day pressure of keeping a forum active, it’s completely understandable to feel burnt out. Running a community takes a lot more energy than most people realize, especially when you’re trying to keep it welcoming and moving forward.

Not to mention my dad goes back to work on Tuesday so after that I'm going to have my hands full one way or another

Maybe when the time is right instead of owning a forum you could be moderator on one to save all the extra work involved and that would definitely be less stressful.

Or I can do something like a basic message board similar to this: http://backstreet.net/boards/bb.cgi?x=index&b=bb I don't like the idea of threads disappearing after so much time but it would definitely be easier to keep track of things. It would have to be a free host and we'd have to do without a domain of course, but it'd be easier to manage than a traditional forum though

ETA I've never never worked with a software like that before so I don't know how it works. I suppose the backboard one I showed you guys is kinda like a guest book of sorts where you can just say a quick hello, goodbye and talk about whatever you want I've no idea how banning or making someone a team member would work as I've only used it as a member and this is the only site I'm aware of that uses software like this
