What do you do about this?

Talktionary has post count disabled in forum games for all users, even admins. But it does count to the forum's total. 😉

Why do most of the forums made have Forum Games section, the posts are useless and it only increase the forum post count, and if a third or more posts are in the forum games section it doesn't make the forum look good.

I don't see a point in having a forum games section.

Finally somebody shares my view

People enjoy forum games, even on serious forums and sometimes they will go back to the forum for the games and then make posts with more valuable content when they are there. Not allowing the forum games to add to their post count prevents people from deliberately abusing the games, to increase their post count. The objective is to keep the games for enjoyment rather than increasing post count.

This is a debatable one. Are they playing those games for fun or to increase post count? This would be a case by case thing. Originally, I'd let it add to the post count, but if I saw a user or 2 abusing it, I would block their access. The whole community shouldn't have it disabled just because of a few users.

Forum games should be treated like a normal forum, a post is a post. Forum games are for members to have fun, even if it does increase post count.

Yes it's a post, but does it add value to the forum? Are the intentions of having fun or whatnot? What if the forum provided some offer after 500 posts and a post with 1 character is considered the same as 1000 characters. You may as well play games and really not help the forum at all, just to get that offer.

It doesn't need to help the forum, users should be allowed to have fun. If the forum is meant to be professional, don't have forum games.

Does having fun mean posting in every single game topic (maybe 200 topics)? Why not just play the XBox or PlayStation if you have that much time?

Maybe some people think forum games is better than playing a games console.

Nice plug 😛

Anyway as long as there is not a sea of counting threads and there is games that involve actual thought process, then post count should be enabled.

We have all postcounts disabled in non-roleplaying boards to encourage people to roleplay. It does help, and no it has not crippled the non-roleplay discussions at all.

Because they are fun.
I have post count disabled in my Forum Fun sub-board, but the forum's totals is still accounted for.

Its always about the postcount...
Its like something special if you have huge postcount...
And its so typical that higher-postcount-members become cocky lol...
Correct me if i'm wrong...

Personally i really dont care about my postcount, its not so special...
