Do you do post exchanges regularly? Do you think an automated system is useful or would you rather do it manually with other members?

When I ran my forum I didn't really ever do post exchanges. I probably should have, as I like posting on other forums, but I really just value natural activity over short bursts of activity by random people. I want to get to know my members and have discussions with them, not just see them post an leave(a bit ironic I guess)

As far as automated systems, I really don't like using them. I would rather at least have the luxury of knowing who I'm exchanging with at the very least; in an automated system I even lose that luxury

I don't do posts exchange very day

I used to do them, but we both ended up forgetting to do our parts, so we went our seperate ways.

I do not normally use post exchanges. Back when I had owned a forum I used to do them regularly, however, it got to the point that my forum was dependent on them and the community wasn't self-sufficient. They are nice things to have, however to many of them can make your forum a horrible mess.

I personally notice when a forum has members that aren't really there for the forum; so I try to stay away from post exchanges or buying posts.

I used to do them when a certain gaming community was just starting out. I managed to get a lot of activity/new content quite frequently. It's a nice way to help one another by returning the favor. It's a shame the post exchangers don't stick around, but doing numerous exchanges does work wonders. I don't engage in post exchanges nowadays, though. 😛

I do them at random cycles. Mostly when I feel like new topics are needed and I personally can't think of new ones. Sometimes new content from totally new and different members can stir up some great conversation. Also when I'm bored I enjoy exchanging with people.

It's nice to be the member in control of how frequent I can exchanges done! 🙂

Automated systems aren't very good and usually are used as a sales tool rather than an actual post exchange. That's why I stopped using PostLoop for exchanges. Manual exchanges tend to produce higher quality posts.

I do them every once in a while (maybe twice or three times a year I'll open my exchange thread and do a few). I like to exchange new threads because they are more beneficial in my opinion.

I don't do them very often because I just don't have enough time to anymore. I mean it takes a while to do them (and do a decent job, not just drop one-line replies and go... because that's not fair at all).
