Post to Get a Domain?

Well, we have "Post 2 Host", in which people can make a certain number of posts regularly or within each period of time to get a free host. I am just wondering if there is a similar version to get a domain name... So we post to get a free domain name. Since domain name is paid annually, they system might be slightly different than for hosting?

There are some few sites out there that do this. Some are or used to be promoted on FP.

But to be honest there are other ways to get a domain quicker then to go posting on such a place to get the amount of fake cash to get a domain.

My suggestion would be to earn money through affiliate links or other type of links that once clicked earn you $$.

You can put these links on your website or signature on forums you are active on.

There are tons of ways to earn money, you just need Paypal or something to receive it!

Indeed, but I asked actually because I don't have a PayPal account and not allowed to have one. 😛

Technically speaking you are right, it is going rather the long way, but I'm just curious. Since I think the idea for post 2 host is interesting (although I never tried one), just curious if I can do one to get a domain as well, with the regular payment, so I don't have to worry about not having PayPal account or other payment accounts.

The problem is what will you do when the domain nears expiration after that 1 year?

This depends on the website which offers the service for the domain, I suppose... It would be great if it can be renewed by another number of posts, just like post 2 host. I understand it might be rather costly though, though domains are paid yearly.

Well, because my parents won't let me have one. After all I'm still dependent on them so I can't do as I wish. XD Thanks for the offer, though I think it would be complicated to use someone else's account? XD

If the domain isn't pushed to you I guess it will work fine.

If you live in the UK then you could always purchase a 3V Voucher from any store with PayPoint which is most corner shops and post offices. You can visit their website here: www.3vprepaid.com and it acts as a pre-paid credit card. You do need to be 16 or over however you might be able to get away with lying if you are under the age of 16! The outcome is great and you can spend it online on any website accepting credit cards.

When I was at dntemple in 2009. It was only 100 posts and you could get a domain name. It was structured through a forum cash thing, 1,000 forum cash gets you a domain. He had that somewhat hooked in with his domain website. Yes he owned a site where you buy domain names. Now it has gotten harder and is a different owner.

Yes, indeed, that was the original thought. Kind of I truly post to get a free domain, the domain can stay with that person until I have an account to transfer to, for example4.

You can always open a thread in the exchange forum. Most people would ask for posts on their forum. I can't tell you how much though because everyone is different.

Actually this not only involves when you want to buy the domain, but also to sustain the domain throughout the years in case you don't have an account to transfer the domain to or any other problems. Who knows people who offer service of post-to-get-a-domain may not really willing to have to pay for the domain price each year. ^^;
