Many businesses use postcard reminders sent out to former customers. So why not ask your members to sign up for a physical mailing list, such as one where you could mail out postcards and printed newsletters occasionally. People get so busy online and forget to visit a site. But, if they were to get a 'we missed you!' postcard in the mail box, surely they would want to return. What do you think of this idea?
The only downside to this is that a forum owner who is normally in college or a teenager, which means they do not have a large source of income. And physically posting things out, can be quite costly especially if it is international forum and so while this is a really good idea, the cost of this is probably not feasible for most.
