If Chatosaur ran a posting contest where the winner would get $30 USD via Paypal (may be able to do Crypto if I figure a way) would you think many would join?

I would hope so, but I'd also probably recommend having rules in place to prevent too many low effort posts to keep people from doing that to try and win. Even without low effort posts, it'd still be a relatively easy way to earn an easy-ish $30 from posting on the site.

If the idea behind the contest is an activity boost for Chatosaur/increase the threads and post count. Perhaps instead of doing a competition to win $30, take the money you’d use for the prize and instead set up a limited time period where it’s paid to post? You might be likely to get longer/better quality postings that way and if you set it up correctly you should be able to keep it within the $30 range?

Posting contests work better when you have a lot of members. I don't recommend for new forums. It's better to buy posting packages, you'll get more posts, and better quality.

That's really good advice. I've seen new forums attempt to do this and I think you're right.

Ya’ll have good activity at the moment. What more boost do you expect? 😅 I’d wait out until your activity goes down.

Thanks all.

Re: Pay to post

The paid to post idea wouldn't work because I wouldn't want people to try to redeem.$100 and then I can't pay them and get called a scammer.

The $30 prize is within my budget. $100+ isn't.

Instead of a posting contest, I’d recommend investing the $30 into an advertising campaign.

Especially since you have some good activity going on already.

You could attract some new members that way. Have you thought about advertising on Reddit?

You can set your budget at $5 a day and run it for 6 days.

Get the ads manager app and sell spots on your forum. It's very easy to do, and it could help generate revenue for your site.
