Does your forum enforce or prefer posting etiquette, such as using proper grammar and spelling at the least?

For me, one thing that shouts possible spam is run-on sentences and poor spelling.

Most things like anything else is setup to be English anyway and FOurms can be any language. Unless your site has many language support then stick with one. IPB offers many language but takes up so much space if you have more then one.

And as I mentioned on your post from the other forum, which is word for word on both posts (that seems kind of spammy 😉), with people on mobile devices, it's easy to misspell and make grammar errors and not even realize it.

haha, I wanted to get several thoughts. 🙂
I still agree with your response.
Again, I appreciate your input!

I get you. I just wanted to throw that in for some fun of it. I figured you had good intentions.
All good! lol
I will say, the community here is unlike many forums I have been on. FP is, well, friendly!
Discussions like this are helpful for me as I run two forums and I want to run them well. I am always open to learn and change! 🙂

You have to remember that not everyone is from the USA and English is not their first language.
I've got to agree with @Ozzy47, you can never really know who is sitting the other side of the screen. English may not be their first language or they may have disabilities that hinder their ability to write a post.

I have in the past very rarely corrected an error in a thread title but that's as far as I would go.

Most people nowadays learn English as their second anyway and not to mention their PC would be in their own language.

We don't enforce any grammar or spelling. I think it's just common sense that if you want people to acknowledge what you then you have to present it in a manner where the reader isn't distracted with your typos.

Nah I don't really care one way or another tbh, I kind of like that everyone has their own way of typing / structuring sentences and I find that infinitely more interesting than just good grammar

I don't enforce proper grammar or spelling on my forum. Everyone types differently, and if someone has a disability it might be a bit more difficult for them to spell certain words correctly.

Then they might want this http://www.grammarly.com/ end of the day they can't be helped if they are bad. I mean I'm one of those people that are bad at spelling and grammar. Can't ban them for that.

I'm not bothered. As long as you post something legible I don't care.

I make sure that the language is readable and has fewer grammar and language errors.

I spend more time posting on my tablet and let me tell you it's not easy composing even half-decent posts than on a desktop, especially when one is in a hurry. So we are not overly strict on etiquette at all.

It annoys me alot when people post without the right grammer and spelling but I dont make it a rule

I do agree that at times they can't be helped that the fact that they are bad at grammar and spelling end of the day they do their best. Myself is very bad at grammar and I do use built-in grammarly to help
