I'm just curious what you guys think of postloop. Am thinking about trying it. Has it helped your site at all?

PostLoop is great. The biggest benefit of it is that it has a large collection of users so you will get a wide range of posters for your site. However, they are quite lax in terms of the content as they don't have any proper guidelines on what they constitute as a good post. Most of the posts you will get are great but you may also get a few that you aren't too happy with. I'm not sure how their refunds work. The other great site is TheForumWheel. They are a bit more strict with the content posters that they accept so you tend to get a lot of great posts. You might want to try them out here

I'm with Empire on this one.
Postloop experiences vary based on what you set as your guidelines and how you target your exchanges. The lack of users from the west might be a let-down though. I've always found it hard to get users outside of the eastern hemisphere to participate.
It can be good for general discussion forums and some niche ones (gaming etc..). However, on some niches, not the case. Basically, it boils down to not having experienced people.
But that's not saying everything written is terrible. It's only they try to dodge the niche. For instance, if writing about guitar, they would focus on rock bands, not technique. But that's not saying writing about rock bands isn't a good thing for that niche.

What postloop needs right now is more new people/traffic to come alone and build there system. more websites/blog added the bigger things will start
Postloop doesn't give me much confidence tbh. If you take a look at the site you can see that it's old as dirt, there are just a handful of forums using the service, and the documentation is lacking. Does it even support IPB 4?
Postloop used to be a viable and useful tool for forums just starting out. Over time it dimminished. Ryan completely gave up on it and eventually sold it off, the new owners don't seem to care too much about it either. There are just a handful of forums to post on unless you have an insanely high rating from long ago, if you're just starting with postloop, it's damn near impossible to get a high enough rating to post on any forums worthwhile.
You can invest in it by buying points and getting posts to your forum that way, but even that, it's insanely expensive.

Overall the posting quality is very good, but, as people already mentioned, it's also pretty expensive, since there are few forums and posters now. It used to be a pretty good resource for paid posting, but now I find it a little deserted and it's a pity.

I've gotten a lot of activity with it to fluff up my board. I have kind of a niche section at the top and then more general topics that are semi-related to the niche, and the postloop people naturally hang out in the general area.
A quick burst of a lot of posts isn't always good. Note that forums need a steady amount of comments from the same users for a few months (at the least). In that case, Postloop, TheForumWheel would need to be a long-term investment to be any good I think.
I tried Postloop and the quality was pitiful. I haven't tried Forum Wheel, but I did use Paidforumposting twice last month and both times had great service. Good posts with no hint of ESL whatsoever and really helpful project manager. I paid more over there, but it was worth it to me for the guarantee of quality and actually getting the job done.
@simonweb I went with 4.0 and 4.5. I have a niche site, so maybe that had something to do with it, but I just wasn't impressed. I think someone mentioned that they hang out in Off Topic a lot and that's the truth. I told paidforumposting to avoid those general areas and they listened. Spread it around, don't go overboard with too many posts at one time, that sort of thing and that's what I got.
I don't know. It seems to be a get what you pay for kind of thing. I agree with Jason that it's a long term investment because you don't want these people coming and going abruptly, but I've been seeing some organic membership since I brought them in, so I'll stick with it a while longer and see what happens.

None taken. I get it that some subjects are very specialized, but I guess that's why I needed a more upper crust set of writers. I was leery after Postloop, so I asked over at paidforumposting and they said the writers will research anything they aren't familiar with. That's either true or they oddly happen to have a bunch of people over there who are really into my odd little niche. Lol. I also had people on it within 24 hours, which was kind of nice. You pay for it, you'd kind of like them to get to work, you know?
