I would choose rice over and over again.
I kinda have this likeness for rice dishes that my friends used to tease me of how rice will sprout on my head one of these days😹😹😹.
The only dish I can eat outside and anywhere is rice.
So I choose rice.
The cutting edge science involves wearing a blood glucose monitor and checking your individual reaction to rice and potatoes. The carb load from potatoes can be surprisingly low. This is before we even get to nutrients.
I'd go for potatoes. I don't eat rice too often. I only eat rice when I have curry as I'm not the biggest fan of it.
Potatoes are something I'd always go for as I make homemade chips a lot of the time and it's one of my favourite foods.
I'm more of a potatoes kinda gal. Rice isn't bad (and I do love me some fried rice), but I feel like I need something with it to really enjoy it. I can't just eat it plain or by itself. If given the choice between the two, I'd definitely go with potatoes.
It depends on how I have each one. I love potatoes when they are baked and I love rice when it is done in a way such as with curry or if I make a fajita rice bowl or a burrito.
I will admit though, I do love baked potatoes with cheese and coleslaw 🙂
I love both of them equally, but unfortunately in my country the price of British potatoes became shamefully high. In fact, it doubled from a day to another. So I stopped to buy them, sadly.
To be honest, I love both of them. However, because rice is the staple food in the Philippines, I tend to prefer it. I normally eat black or brown rice because I have a chronic disease.
Rice is great. It stores well and you can put a variety of stuff with or on it. Butter, soy sauce, chicken, beans. Potatoes are puffy and mashed can get plain and watery. The texture of potatoes only works as a fry or baked but the variety isn't there. It works with paler fats, cheese, and bacon, but the bacon is more of an aftertaste than a primary flavor.
