PR without Backlinks

So, I have been wondering how a website can have PR if there is absolutely no backlinks going into it?

Example:
http://newway.ulmb.com/
Established on: 12-18-2006 (never mind what I currently have on it)
Page Rank: 2
Backlinks: 0

Maybe the back links used to be there but recently dropped off. You might lose that pr in the next update.

Page Rank is all about backlinks so there's no way that you can have PR2 without having any backlinks.
Anyway, I noticed that your domain is just a sub-domain on a free hosting site: http://www.unlimitedmb.com/ which have 8 backlinks.
