Sometimes I think the disabled are unfairly targeted for gossip, stuff that can get them banned from places, especially, or in trouble with the law. Also, no matter what the disabled person does to "mind their own business" and avoid trouble - lots of people are on the prowl to target them.

Do you think this is an exaggeration?

I think prejudice in disabled people is a significant issue. A lot of people are quick to make assumptions in every day life anyway, which also applies in this context. It is much more beneficial to try and understand the limitations of someone with a disability or impairment through communication, rather than assume their abilities. 🙂

Well, a big problem with cultural right is that they often use abortion as a thing to excuse other types of un-empathy.

Anyway, a root of the anti-disabled stuff is taxes. The cultural right resents taxes and the disabled are often recipients of government programs - so they get thrown in with other resented groups: racial minorities, gays (Well, that group seems to have a reputation for being independent.),

Well, there's always going to be "bitc#es", so to speak, lol, but a lot of un-empathy can be reduced - if public programs are privatized. That would reduce the "taxes" thing.

Yes I think it is eggagerated as I see just the opposite, I think most go out of their way to help the disabled

It boggles my mind how the German people (during the 30s and 40s) became so lacking in empathy - that anti-disabled propaganda - basically calling for their eradication - was actually taken seriously - or was it?

I think it’s unfair to blame the German people as such. Not like they had much of a choice when they had a nutter of a dictator taking their country to war, with pretty much a private army (SS) bowing to his every whim. Before that they were brainwashed into electing him.

Every nation has had anti disabled views, hence putting them away into asylums and such. Different generations still have views now which would be seen as abhorrent, much like gay marriage etc. It’s mental health which is now the big thing as people are open and more understanding of disabilities yet don’t understand hidden ones.

I like what you say - but don't necessarily agree!

It is not an exaggeration. I have seen people abusing the disabled because of their disabilities which is a poor thing to do to anyone especially people in such conditions, it can make them to commit or thinks of committing suicide. There should be a more serious penalty or fines for anybody found guilty of such crime.
