So it's 5 days until the premier league kicks off. Fixtures for this weekend are as follows:
Sat
Arsenal v WBA
Bolton v Stoke City
Everton v Blackburn
Hull City v Fulham
Middlesbrough v Tottenham
West Ham Utd v Wigan Athletic
Sunderland v Liverpool

Sun
Chelsea v Portsmouth 13:30
Aston Villa v Manchester City 15:00
Man Utd v Newcastle 16:00

So who will you be supporting?

This season i'll be supporting Portsmouth. Can't see us beating Chelsea on Sunday, even with Crouch and Defoe on the Squad ~sad~

I don't support a premership team. I support stevenage borough. I'm sure efc will be happy when i tell him Wrexham beat borough 5-0 on saturday. Everton vs Blackburn though for him I see as a draw but chelsea should beat portsmouth.

OK season started

Stevenage are in the relegation zone (go on laugh efc)

Portsmouth are bottom Christian lol

And Everton lost 3-2, but to be fair they haven't bought anyone new in. Give them a chance.

I didn't see the Everton game, but i was looking out for efc in the crowd ~lol~

Also, i don't care about Portsmouth's position at the moment. Yes, David james should have done much better. As Alan Hanson said on MOTD last night, you can't tell the premier league from the fight 2 game days, you can't even win the premier league in the first 3 months - you can only lose it. There's plenty of time for improvement.

oh,:
Stevenage are in the relegation zone (go on laugh efc)

This is a premier league topic, you already have a stevenage topic.

Fair enough, couldn't help mentioning them though lol

I agree and i think portsmouth will be in Europe -8)- next season

And how can you not see a game but look for efc? :?

I was watching it on the Match of the day. I know the Stand, Row and seat he's got on his season ticket, just the TV's not zoomed in enough ~razz~

4-0, 4-0!!

Chelsea looked amazing this weekend...hopefully we can keep it up!

@Clovy : Yeah i was really impressed with Chelsea's performance that was greatly helped by Portsmouth's sloppy back 4. David James should have done much better, but at the end of the day it's only the first week so plenty of time for improvement ~smile~

@Liquid: I was surprised you drew 1-1 with Newcastle. Should have been more in my opinion, but Given had a brilliant game in Goal.

Fixtures for this weekend

Blackburn v Hull City
Liverpool v Middlesbrough
Newcastle v Bolton
Stoke City v Aston Villa
Tottenham v Sunderland
WBA v Everton
Fulham v Arsenal

Wigan Athletic v Chelsea
Manchester City v West Ham Utd

Arsenal has Fulham, we should beat them but they are our bogie team so i think it will only be 1-0 or a draw

Chelsea and Liverpool should win easily, no match for Man utd i see, they must be playing in the super cup or on monday

No idea sorry, i don't think they show the games on BBC, but i'd imagine the Chelsea and Liverpool game will be on Sky Sports or Setanta.

I'm guessing he's one of their commentators?

That's a shame because i'm going round a friends house to watch the England game on Wednesday, which is on Setanta. ~neutral~

It's a real shame they're not showing the England games on BBC, John Motson is a brilliant commentator ~cry~

I like Setanta actually, got alot of rights this season. I cancelled at the end of last season as it was no point keeping it for me, as no football. I recieved a call 2 weeks before the season asking if i would go back for £6.99 a month with no connection fee, can't argue with that.

Anyway back to topic

I thought Villa were good value last Sunday - once again using the fast flowing counter attacks at every chance we have to break - i have waited a long time to see us play attractive football since the days of John Gregory - Ashley Young and Gabby Agbonlahor were superb - Young was having an easy afternoon down the wings with no threat from City - Aggy had a bit of competition from Micha Richards in the first half but he got nowhere near him in the second beating him everytime he broke away - his hattrick was second to none - he is a quality finisher under pressure - only 7 minutes to score it as well - only gripe was the defence that led to City's second goal - i thought they could of done better than that but when Cuellar comes in i'm sure that won't be a problem - so a 4-2 win - a fullhouse - a 7 minute hattrick and 2nd in the league is looks great to view - it's still very early days but i'm full of confidence for this season - the players are all commited apart from one who dosn't have a clue what is happening deep down - the morale is sky high - and were playing good attacking football that leads to so many goals

Bring on Stoke this Saturday - we want 8 🙂
