Over time computers slow down with no big reasons. People using them wonder what could have happened to their systems and try to find out the remedies to fix slow PC.The speed at which computers work nowadays is high enough. Though with time, the expectations and the usage both have changed 360 degrees. Often people find it hard to decide why does the speed goes slow without making any major changes to the software they are currently using.

Many users are not aware of the fact that when they install new software it runs smoothly but it does not remain the same for long. It slows down because of the startup software and the saturation with temporary files. Also, the tendency of the softwares is to expand, thus requiring more hard disk space, more RAM and processing power owing to the upgraded versions of softwares. Problem itself offers the solution like you can get rid of the slow running computer with the help of having upgraded processor and hard drive. You can also purchase more RAM. When looked at closely it was found that the problems are more software related, in this case you need not invest money in purchasing any new hardware components.

Most of the computers come with pre installed softwares which become useless with course of time. The pre-installed softwares that got expired need to be uninstalled by you only. Viruses are rare but malwares and spywares are notorious to create a lot of trouble to PCs and laptops. Some of them are quite harmful too. They are specifically designed to steal your information which is then shared with anti social elements. Updating device drivers may also serve the purpose. These measures can protect your computer from any major problems, a healthy and cleaned up system works smoother and faster.

I use System Mechanic, but some other programs exist like CCleaner. Note, System Mechanic does the job for me, but the premium version of CCleaner might be just as good. I know the free version of CCleaner isn't that bad.

Aren't always the software.having an clean OS is an good point to start with and if you have junk on it then remove it and uninstall what you don't need.

Also regards to hardware get an SSD 🙂 it will speed things up. I have an Asus X555LA and I added an 256GB SSD and now the speed is fast. Also windows 10 is fast!!!

Possibly people could do all the maintenance by hand and save 20 to 40 dollars a year. Perhaps companies are getting wise to the fact people might not need them, so that's why they are always offering massive discounts to upgrade. Note, if a company gets 10 dollars from a discount upgrade, it's still better than nothing.
