I have updated the website slightly. I will be updating it a lot next week with tons of new content. 😉

Thanks, @johnson Alex.

I added an "about me" page. I know that it's unlikely that many people would want to read about such an inconsequential person, but I did enjoy writing it. :3

I have made some updates, and I will be making more over the weekend. Feel free to visit. 😉

Thanks, David. 🙂 I hope to get some things done this weekend on the site.

Most people probably won't care, but I have posted a little blurb on the main page with some of my late-night thoughts on games today born from a strong sense of nostalgia I've been feeling this evening. I will probably read it over tomorrow and realize that it makes no sense at all, but it is what it is. Check it out if you want.

I read it which apparently puts me out of the most people class which I suppose is a good thing, yes? 😛

Games today just aren't the same as I agree with you on that. The best games that I used to play was when the latest consoles were the SNES and the Genesis. After that, they slowly found their way to the bore fest that is today's gaming where style and graphics are focused over compelling story and game play.

I take it you are a fan of purple. lol Site looks lovely and I look forward to future precious musings from you. 🙂

Thanks, Bluezone. I have always My peak time for gaming was, as I said on the site, the mid-to-late 1990s and the early 2000s. In those times, I feel that most games were still reminiscent of those that you grew up playing. Games had depth, awesome stories, and elegance. Games today are released essentially as demo reels--there are some cool special effects, flashy graphics, and ambitious technical feats, but what the hell good are those things if there isn't an actual game to play?

Yeah games are so much like movies that it's actually debatable if you are actually playing a game or watching an interactive movie. I still have fond memories of playing games like Final Fantasy 2 and 3 among other RPGs from the era. Great stories that made you want to finish the game so you could see the entire story play out and even replay the game because it was such an enjoyable experience. Heck they were even able to make a compelling RPG based around Mario AKA Super Mario RPG that was a great game. These days I don't really play games anymore because I don't care much for how they are made now. I guess they just don't make them like they used to. lol

Yeah, it's unfortunate that games that got you really invested in the story are a thing of the past. Games that allowed you to make them into what you wanted them to be are also a thing of the past. The developers babysit you and tell you exactly how you're "supposed" to play games now. 😛

I guess they don't have any faith in the player being able to play their game "the right way" without them showing you the way. lol

Exploring the game world and finding your way on your own is all part of the journey of playing through a game but I guess this is lost on people now.
