Problem With Amount of Windows I Can Open ?

I have a problem ......... and have tried all sorts of things - but no matter what I do - after 10 windows ( clicking on links etc ) I have to reboot and start again.

Its driving me mad its only on my desktop not on my laptop - I run IE8 (and yes firefox is the same)

So annoying when you are on and someone sends you a link and you have to copy and paste it into an existing open window as no new windows will open :shrug:

Anyone ??
 
Ok explain in more detail, are you talking about TABS, or IE8 windows?

Also specifications of your computer please 🙂.
 
Maybe you don't have enough RAM to handle it? (Just a guess). You should clean out your cookies and cache and it should clear some room. CCleaner does a good job of that (Google it. It's free).

Opera seems to handle multiple windows pretty well. Maybe try that browser?

Tabs - and I don't mean I want to have 10 windows open at once but after opening around 10 thats it! even after some have been closed - won't do anymore til I reboot.

Its not a Ram issue - spec is:

3Ghz 1.87 GB Ram

It used to be fine until about a month ago when this started - so frustrating :shrug:
 
But I am scared to do that as I will lose all my logins and passwords ??
 
Maybe there's an option under your browsers setting where you set the amount of open tabs allowed? try looking for something like that under 'Extra > options'
 
It seems your computer is full of unneeded files and such.

Try using disk cleanup and ccleaner.
 
Doesnt give me an option to Deselect login details 🙁

Nothing in options about how many tabs and I have not changed any settings.

Guess I am stuck with it unless I get a man in !
 
Then i would suggest you use Firefox instead. Since it does have those options, It's more stable then IE. And i can name alot more things why firefox is alot better 😛

As a firefox user i utterly dislike IE

EDIt: Also with firefox, when you open to many tabs, it warns you and asks you what it should do 🙂

Hmm NBK - disk cleanup and ccleaner ............ ok worth a go - will go to find a download for that.

But first gotta reboot as I have gone past my tenth window lol !!
 
Internet Explorer:
Temporary files, history, cookies, Autocomplete form history, index.dat.

I dont think it will remove your login details.
Though windows already has a program like that.

Also to delete all the internet files:
Go to C:/Documents and settings.
Then find the folder with your login name. In there find: Cookies, And delete everything in it.
 
Might also be worthwhile running a virus scan. If it is a issue with FF aswell as IE, it is something deeper then browsers setting or something relating to just 1 browser.
 
Virus scan runs every night - thanks for all your help on this guys - but I am not comfortable doing anything with deleting cookies etc. Going to call my guy tomorrow and get him in 🙂
 
I dont want to open that many windows !!!!

Thats the max I can open - read it thru and you will see what I mean.
