Problem with Windows XP

In the start menu of Windows XP whenever I try to open 'My Documents', 'My Pictures', 'My Music', 'My computer', 'My Network Places'. I get the following error.

This file dose not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel.

But when I use those icons on the destop they work fine.

I have checked the folder options but if I change them it makes other stange changes.

Edit - Never mind the registry had errors.
