We had a few problems with our host (no change there then) and we were put on their crappiest server (again no change there then) as we were put on the only server which can have 2 hard drive failures in less then a month. We then had our account restored with some data missing meaning i had to upload a backup however the cpanel was so slow it took ages to get in and the backup was keep timing out. It has now uploaded finally and it is working. The may be a few hours of posts lost but don't cry about as it won't bring them back. I have requested to move us servers as it has happened twice and i am not waiting for it to happen for the 3rd time.
Unfortunately i have decided to now call time on running Forum Promotion. Efc2007 will now be in charge and will make all the decisions rather then me (he has better luck then me). I will still be around a bit but only on this forum and no where near as active as i have been.
I would like to thank everybody that has made Forum Promotion a success during my time here and owner and especially the staff contributions to everything here. Efc will probably make his own changes to FP to make it better so there might be loads more new stuff and changes on there way.
We apologise for all the issues again but it was out of our hands and there was nothing we could do to prevent it. It was just bad luck that again we are on a problematic server.
I figured that was the problem yesterday.
That's a shame, Fowler. Never thought you'd quit before FP even turned 1 year old.
Was there any specific reason for your resignation?
To busy and fed up with having to restore the forum every every other week and fed up of being put on the hosts worst server all the time. This is FP's history...
Freeforums - Down more then it was up
Lunarpages - Down nearly every day for a few minutes
PC-core - got suspended and lost the forum but we had backups
lunarpages again - More regular downtime and fed up of waiting 12 hours or 24+ hours for support ticket replies just because i told them the truth that they were crap and they couldn't handle it.
Cirtex - Put on the only server that can have this much downtime twice in a month. Any other server an it would be fine. There is only our one and one other one that has issues and the other one just has the occasional slowness or downtime a bit more often then the others but no where to the extreme as this one.
That is why i am fed up and i can't enjoy this forum any more as i am forever wondering what is going to go wrong next. Will i have to restore the forum at 1 in the morning again this week. Will i be busy for nearly 48 hours and come back to notice that from 2 minutes after i logged off 2 days ago it has been down which is what happened this time as i only found out yesterday evening time. Anyone who knows me always say i have bad luck as if i had 100 questions with 2 answers so it will be 50/50 to get each one right i would get 98 wrong as that is just my luck. Whatever i do is always wrong and look what happened here... Hopefully now that i am gone (although i will still be an admin although i will only visit every other day) FP might actually have some problem free time.
Well, it sucks that your going Fowler, but I certainly don't blame you with all of the crap you've had to put up with bad hosts and stuff like that, best of luck man!

Sorry to hear you're stepping down Fowler. You've done very well with this place and should be proud. I'm sorry things haven't gone right for you but unfortunately that's the beauty of forums lol. There to annoy.
There was a time not so long ago where i would not have left but things change and i wasn't as committed to this forum as i was and if i am not committed to this forum it will not make the forum grow and continue to be as successful.
We have also moved off our server (which was infact called "lucky" although it is the most unluckiest server ever) so now things should be all right.
I'm sorry to hear you are resigning Fowler. You've been such a great admin for the entire time you've been here, and its really sad to see you retiring.
