I'm getting a notification from AVG Anti-Virus of a HTML:Script-inf error; it's preventing me from logging in to any of their sites. Script-inf is a script injection, which is why it's blocked. Those can be benign, but you can't really tell from the outset.

This is new behavior on login to Proboards, probably within the last week.

Proboards will need to engage with its user base and either remove the new login script or offer a workaround for this error.

Thank you for this. Do you have this issue on other browsers? I can take it up with Proboards Support if you still have an issue. Would need to have more info however. Is there more of an error code? What browser, OS are you using?

I know they had this as a reported issue over the weekend. Not sure if they had mentioned if they figured out what was causing the trigger to happen.

If they did mention what was the cause, I didn't see it.
Proboards had another Error this morning with many not being able to access their Proboards forums. It looks like that is fixed now.

I haven't had this problem with any of the forums I visit (that are using Proboards). They must have fixed whatever was going on.

False positives happen pretty often, and since it only affected a few antivirus software it definitely had to be a false positive. That's why I only rely on Windows Defender now days, never had an issue with it on my current laptop.

It wasn't a false positive, as it then redirected to a blank page. This was likely a temporary login script error at Proboards. As @ZandraJoi noted, it was corrected within hours.

I have heard from other users that this happens with them occasionally. My guess would be they have some legacy code that's a bit difficult to handle.

They are also coming out with the next version, V6, so there seems to be a lot of bugs going on more lately.

Looks like there are still some issues...

Interestingly, the title in the tab at the top of the browser reads "[V5] ProBoards - Free Forums & ..." It appears that some of the backend systems have not been fully migrated to the new version. (I had initially thought there was an issue in load balancing.)

They haven't migrated to V6 yet. Supposed to be in a few months. But they've been working on it for many years now. Then they will give us 18 months time to move over.
