Has anyone of you tried hiring a promoter for promoting your forum? In the very recent past, we have had a few threads seeking to hire a promoter, but I am yet ro hear out from anyone regarding success stories out of promoters.

Any ideas?

I am a promoter. I promoted music artists, websites, forums, blogs, etc etc.

Using promoters for your forum or website is a plus to get more traffic and sales for your online business.

They tend to be really expensive, unfortunately, but can be far more effective than any direct advertising.

Never come across an efficient promoter. What strategy did you all ise to hire them?

Unless you're paying the promoter with real money, you're not going to get a good quality worker. Also how do you keep track of all their efforts? Would you have them keep a log of everything they do?

Most people tend to reject that position as it takes time and or they are not interested. I never did found an guy who is willing to do it for free.

Hiring a promoter would seem to be something for a big time website only.

Have them use tracking url's.

Wouldn't that make them look like a spammer?
Only if it's named obviously as such.

I'm sure it would be named obviously as such.
If you're making it yourself (ridiculously easy to make a tracking url) and have that concern, why in the world would you name it obviously?

I have a friend who was hired to solve the exodus of community members due to infighting. It is a local forum with members mostly of people they know. They hold regular EB (eye ball where they can meet face to face) which made them a sort of real organization. But when a flame war started, the effect was so bad. The hired promoter made some simple posts after introducing himself. But after sometime, the posts were interesting such as historical that is relevant to the theme of the forum. In a matter of 3 weeks, the promoter has been gaining some fans and the forum was showing a semblance of life. From what I remember, the promoter said that there were only 5 active member aside from him. But the banter and exchange of comments became livelier. After 2 months of so, the forum began to be bloating with new members. In short, the promoter was successful in his mission.
