If there are any people who use Fiverr. How do you promote yourself or even better, how did you promote yourself as a newcomer? Surely, social networking takes a big impact here, but what if social networking did not work, how would you promote yourself?

I'm sure there are a few people here that use Fiverr and sites like it! One of the best ways is to just be active, make sure to login every day and make sure drive traffic to your gigs on Fiverr using social media sites, Facebook, Twitter etc etc. Post your service link in groups and that (but don't spam obviously). Another great way to promote your Fiverr services is to create a website with a blog and add blog posts about ways in which it can be useful to people. The best way is to find problems people are having and then offer them the solution to that problem via your service on Fiverr. 🙂

I did added myself an basic ad, Months later still listed and no one is interested

My experience so far. You need to be super annoying. It is rather boring to do, but spamming random groups on facebook, spreading the word over reddit and such are a nice start. Although, I have had a nice idea that I might try to realize. Basically, find someone without ratings and sales and make a deal. Make a 5$ request on one of his / hers gig and rate it with 5 with a nice comment and ask for them to do the same. Sure, there is some risk involved here, but you are not giving 100$ away, just 5$.

people say that just only need the skill and you will earn money on fiverr
i have heard them and... boom wasted my time

besides fiverr do you know which sites are similar to?

I guess I would list SEOClerks as one. It isn't exactly as fiverr, but there are plenty of gigs featuring what fiverr offers too. There are even some "copies" of fiverr out there, too, although I don't know much about those.

Yeah but I only really use two or three of them mainly. SEOClerks & Fiverr mainly (as a buyer and seller)./ None of the others really made it although there used to be a few and some are still going. Sites like Gigbucks, GigsClerk, Fourerr and even Tennerr like seriously? Yup!). And don't forget the freelancer platforms like Upwork and PPH (People Per Hour). But those are generally harder to find work and sell on as you got to really sell yourself and if you don't have the experience and skills to brag about and that you might not even get approved! But those are some of the other similar sites to use like that for that reason. 🙂

Nice points. The point is. Fiverr offers you to have your own "workplace". You can choose what you want to do and what your prices are. Many other freelance sites are quite harder to conquer as a fresh spawn. Especially the sites with open job offers. Even if it's a simple task like writing an article, there could be 100 of other people doing it as well. You might waste your time for nothing. I would personally choose fiverr over anything and find a way to boost your reputation

Oh really? Wow lol you should love SEOClerks then if you are a buyer or a seller. You can buy things on SEOClerks for $1 that "have" to cost $5 on Fiverr lol.. But if you join up let me know and I can send you a code to redeem for $5 free spending money for it. I can get you an extra $5 if you follow the advice on my site and you'll get more after that if you follow the other tips too. 🙂

Read the forum of fiverr. There are plenty tricks for newbies on how to promote themselves On-Page and Off-Page.

The best way to promote yourself is by providing great offers. You can start with 7 gigs at the beginning. So make 7 gigs. Optimize the title, make it appealing, offer great results to cheap prices, be polite, reply fast and always overdeliver.

I have an account setup at fiverr but so have not made any sales, i was wondering about doing social media promotion for my gig then i thought since i have no ratings yet, i might send traffic to my gig and when the buyer notice i have no rating, they simply move over and buy from guys who do. Sucks doesnt it?

I have an selling account on Fiverr from 2010, at that time I have many sales on them but now I rarely to login to check the sale. Sometimes once or twice a week. I think the good way to promote your gigs is social sharing.

You can't really promote yourself on Fiverr. I think they monitor messages to make sure you cannot give an email - sort of like with dating sites.

Anyway, in that case, all services are done on Fiverr, no outside website can be involved.
