Hello guys, I am still thinking of creating a new Promotion, Admin Forum combined.

What will my forum have to offer?

Admin/Webmaster Discussions
  • Website & Forum Showcasing
  • Forum Softwares
  • SEO and Traffic
  • Interviews & Articles
  • Web Hosting & Domain Names
  • & Plenty more Forum Boards!

Promotion/Advertisement Services
  • Posting Packages
  • Reviews
  • Signature Advertising
  • Forum Redirect
Member Exchanges
  • Exchange Area
  • Forum Battles
  • Marketplace
  • Job Place

Services will be paid with forum points.
You will get 3 points for New Posts and 5 points for New Topics

I'll be using MyBB, and I might also have a website with a cleanish template offering the services.
& Then basic general-off-topic discussions such as Chat, Forum Games, Internet etc etc

What do you guys think?
Thank you.

Yes but there's no many promotion forums around that offer the admin boards, such as Forum Promotion only offers brain storming and that's about it.

I have to agree with Giorgios on this one.
Promotion Forums are often admin forums.
Having "just promotion" isn't often enough.
FP offers Site Management, Tech Support. 😉
In those forums webmaster stuff is discussed.

Hmm, but there not really advanced boards.
It's like your Web Hosting Forum it similar to any other Web Hosting Forum 😉

I'm with Fergal, the non-promotion related boards on FP cover pretty much every aspect of forum administration.

Isn't this what Forum Promotion and Forum Hour already are? And heck, most Admin Forums offer sections to promote your site too.

Not saying your idea is a bad one, such a site could work quite well, but it's not an original idea and it would be leaving you open to competing with every promotion and admin related forum on the internet.

You're right. I just think the forum gets it name from it's main boads; for example 'Forum Promotion' has the promotion services as it's main forums whereas 'Admin Forums' has Administrative related forums as it's main section.

Just going to do a quick reply to some of the people who posted here.
Fergal already said it, but yeah FP has much more than just brainstorming (though I think it should expand).

Now to OP.
So you're going to make a site that exists in plenty of other places, but use a unique name & an empty forum script & some different graphics?
Cool.

Now don't take that the wrong way; my point is not to shut you down, but to encourage you.
I hope you take some time to make your site truly unique & actually desirable.

Lastly, I hope you don't engage in the same type of spam that you did on Skype to promote your new site as it truly is annoying & disrespectful.

It will work if you and only if you have unique ideas! I agree with Fergal!

As everyone has stated, it's already been done.

Though with this being said, that doesn't mean you can't do it better.

Simply find a way to do it better, and you'll do better.

An example of this is Facebook as opposed to MySpace, MySpace was widely used in around 2007/2008, and Facebook wasn't, whereas now, it's the other way around.

There's so many tips I could give you, though they might not work for you, but a couple of tips that will definetely work for anyone:

Market your forum well, this basically means, promote it anyway you can and use every resource you can find, but remember, any publicity is good publicity, if you are doing a good job.

And lastly:

Don't give up. Simple enough..

Good luck!

Why is it when anyone wants to start a forum, they always seem to fall back on one or two, maybe three, Promotion, Admin, or Gaming, thats all that seems to be around, I have not seen or heard of anything unique in the forum community for a few years.

I have to wonder, why people bother, even this forum is full of myths, if half the Admins on here spent as much time on their own as they did here, their forums would be whole lot better places.

I've been around various forums lately, Admin & Promotion, and there are a few people out there, trying to spread the word about the latest Penguin and Panda updates, and in the main they are all telling the same story, but do people read them, do people act upon, has the admin of this forum reacted at all to those two updates, which if you do not react could see what were popular forums nose dive down the rankings.

Why do people still want affiliate swaps ?
Posting packages dead, they serve no purpose ! unless they are in niche relevant, informative and fresh !
Links in signatures dead ignored by Google ! but you all persist.

Please get out there and read about SEO by the experts, don't rely on hearsay and guesswork.

SEO and promotion is hard work, posting on a "Promotion Forum" wont make it any easier !

I think it's a cool idea, you should totally go for it. You wouldn't have anything to lose, even if it doesn't go well, you would just have a new experience.
