Hey, Forum Promotion!

After feedback from the community, we've decided to revamp the Promotion Directory in the way that our community wanted. I'm very happy with how this discussion went, personally. We were able to get the one huge thing that some people wanted, and the organization that other people wanted. However, all Promotion Directory threads have been archived, but you're welcome to make a new thread! The only major difference is this: When you post your Promotion Directory thread, you're required to select a prefix. This helps people find your forum when they're looking for a specific genre, and it is very easy to do when you post your thread. With this, we're removing most all clutter from the directory.

For anyone looking for a specific type of forum, all you have to do is click the prefix and our software will automatically sort the threads so you only see the threads that have your desired prefix.

I look forward to our next community debate. 🙂

John

Just as an FYI, we are also working on making the prefixes look better. They should be completed by tomorrow.

all Promotion Directory threads have been archived

Too much work to go through and manually add in prefixes for each thread one by one? 😛

Actually I think purging all the topics from the directory is a good thing because if you went back a few pages, all the forums listed were either inactive or dead by this point.

Nice! Happy to hear of a more organised and neat area for FPs members to share their blogs, communities and websites!

Also, might want to add in the thread that any threads that do not get updated in 30 days are automatically hidden. (They can still be access via the url, just wont be seen in the promotion directory)

I was going to do this as @MasterA didn't want the threads removed. Guess they did it anyways

However, if you are going to remove them anyways, I think any recent threads should have at least been kept in the promotion directory.

Hence why threads that do not get updated in 30 days no longer show 😉
Helps keep members coming back to update their threads too!

Happy to know that most of the topics will now link to active sites.

When I say active I'm sure we will still get the open/close forums.

I was like, what the flippin rich was happening since I was online when it was being done, then realised it's the import of the new prefix 🙂

I was going to recreate another topic anyway with fresh post 🙂 Glad it's added and definitely easy for us. Yeahhhhhhhh better then now then the past

Might as well ask here! Are we allowed to have more than one prefix? I was able to select two when I created it (and still can if I edit) but after checking my topic it seems like one has been removed. Figured I should ask before trying to add it back 😉

You are able to add two prefixes @Kik. If you run into any issues, shoot me a PM and I will look into it.

Great update! It will be a lot easier to sort through threads now 😀

Hows everyone going with the new revamp
