Redcap, I apologize for being late with the review. I had exam to prepare for today. The review will be done before my day ends (here). I'm sorry for the late response!
Decent design, yet to be customized
I remember this MyBB theme from another forum I visit. It seems to be a free theme, but it is beautifully designed. Therefore, it is a good starting point! There are various elements which can be tweaked to make the forum more personalized and customized. The banner is a good start, although with the crown on the "K" letter at first I thought it was "R" (thus it becomes "Promotion Ring"). The category/forum icons and thread/post buttons are nicely designed, although they are yet to show off the characteristic and identity of the forum. I personally like the idea of adding crown to the banner, and I think similar improvisation can be done for other supporting images. Not saying it has to be a crown too, but something related to "king" can be used. Banner advertisements seem to need space after it so it won't look so close to the board layout. Keep on improving to actually show the word "king" from the forum title in the appearance! It is all about impression.
Weaknesses:
Not-so-organized and limited layout
I am aware that this is possibly one of the biggest problems for forums in the niche. Given how the sections. Promotion King's layout is actually a good one, although I believe there are still rooms for improvement. For example, the placement of "Community Reviews" as a forum service may not be very accurate. As far as I understand, because community reviews are provided by members of the community instead of the staff team of the forum, it is not counted as service. I also think that the general webmaster discussion section can be expanded more to offer grounds for further discussions. They can start as sub-forums to avoid clutter in the forum index page, for example. Content covering basic explanations, tutorials, or tips/tricks can be added to populate the sections and raise members' knowledge. I see that "Bulletin Board" does not have a post there yet. It becomes tricky because there is a possibility that the community does not need this section and therefore can be removed, making the on-topic discussion area even shorter. Or, in return, promotional action to encourage members to post their achievements there can be done. Perhaps the idea I mentioned before about expanding on-topic discussion area can be used to compensate this problem. "Community Reviews" can also be moved here, for example, if you are looking for a good new destination. Trying to improvise on the names of the section can be a good idea too, giving a fresh and unique atmosphere around the forum. The links at the footer also look strange because it is unclear what they are about.
Content variation
Yet another weakness which may not be very easy to tackle, but must always be fought for. The currently on-going content is actually pretty good already; standard services are offered and elements of the current default theme are exploited to help with that, discussions are on-going at on-topic and off-topic area. This is where expansion is more needed, to add variation to discussion and hopefully keep members interested. With the idea of adding more (sub-)forums as written above, this will be vital in helping to maintain activity. I see that there is an attempt to bring a fun atmosphere by running contests. That is a good idea, but it will need mass advertisement to get a decent rate of participation. You can make use of the mass e-mail or invitation system to help with that.
Final Remarks:
I apologize for being late with the review, first of all. Being a promotion forum, the drills are generally the same. The basics have been laid out pretty well, although there are still elements which can be improved. To support the technical details, you may want to find one or two friends who can help to cheer the atmosphere up and encourage discussion. A steady combination of those both will best help you to stay long. It is indeed not an easy work, so good luck!
