Promotion- Online or offline?

Do you do the majority of promoting your forum online or do you do most of it offline (word of mouth e.t.c)?

I normally do most of my promoting online, but for one particular forum (Uk band forum), i am having to do most of it by word of mouth and flyers on public noticeboards.

The majority of promoting is done online.

In the beginning, however, I did mostly offline by talking with fellow peers and friends.

I usually do a bit of both, as i tell my friends and people I know that would interested in the subject about it.

Bit of both here. Advertise via word of mouth to friends and family that would be interested in the particular forum. While I do have a small online ad campaign going on, that will be ramp up soon.

Online pretty much but this varies from internet forums to my personal Facebook & Twitter etc.

Mostly Online since my forum more business then personal
