Hello,

I am trying to get my forums active but nothing seems to be working things that I have tried are below.

Social Media - all the groups there are filled with selfish spambots (no offense)
Forums - works but very slow growth

What else can I try?

Do you need money to get it active?

Thanks!

You could try giving out prizes and hosting a posting or refferal contest, that works at times. Really, you need to make your forum original to the thousands of other well established gaming forums out there. It sounds like a repeat I know, but it's a question you must ask yourself - Why would people join my forum over other gaming sites that already have a well established community?

I just launched a unique feature create your own clan and I also offer a gaming channel, not many you tubers own both a forum & channel. But you're right I need to do something unique.

Well you need to make sure that guests know that they can do such a thing at your site, you need to think of a way to tell people about that. Maybe try talking to a few people with gaming channels on YouTube, or Twitch. But you have to remember that this idea may not be so original because 1SGG (1ShotGG.com) has also got a streaming feature. 🙂

I mean not too many compared to the number of overpauperlated gaming channel YouTube hosts.

Yes I encourage users to sign up on the main homepage and what there missing out on.

Moved to a more suitable place. 🙂

try affiliating with bigger/more active gaming forums. You can also try paid advertising space (banners and such) if you have the money. Make sure the forum that it appears on is very active/well-known/gets lots of traffic.

I have paid $8 to have it displayed on the mario forums that only went up today so I see how it goes 🙂

Also I did some changes to the forums to improve them and A points feature will be available tomorrow where you can purchase access to the promotion forums and certain other things.

I be also hosting a activity contest soon to get content flowing and since users mainly leave after the contest has ended I only allow up to A certain number to participate.
Hope this will help

If I was rich I will buy to make the forums huge as that's my goal but guess that's life.

the Mario forums don't seem to be getting any traffic hope I didn't waste $8 :/

-- August 1st, 2014, 11:12 am --

People complain when I close projects down but they don't even give it a chance themselves for me to have a reason to leave it open

Word of mouth is often a good way to gain other members, make sure you encourage any members that you do have to spread the word about your forum. I know it's hard and slow going but one of the best ways to advertise your forum, is at other forums, preferably high traffic/active ones.

Makes me think forums are dead and I'm trying my best some sign up but don't post.

That all comes as part of owning a forum unfortunately. The first year or so of a forum being created is always an uphill struggle, thing won't happen overnight, stick at it though and slowly you will start to see results.

1) Consider a redesign
2) Create content – and lots of it
Your forum probably died or probably will die a slow death due to a lack of content.
3) Set yourself targets
4) Email current members
5) Continue to market, create content and nurture your community

Time is against you
Not everyone has a lot of time to spend in your community. Parents are busy raising their children. Fishermen are busy fishing. Gamers are busy playing games. They need a reason why they should give up their spare time to contribute to the community.

1: I'm using a nice premium theme so don't think it be the theme
2: trying my best to provide the best possible content
3: Nice Idea 😉
4: tried that it worked for some members
5: I will try my best

I have added services to help users with there channel and ability to create a clan.
Loads of people sit on Facebook all day so they should have time to pop over I'm trying to be unique and to offer as much as I can.

Would you be able to check the site out and have your views

Its hard when most active forums dont allow promotion..

I give up I even go as far as spending my last $8 on advertising on the Mario forums so probabably the site is useless idk but I tried everything.
