So I'm looking for suggestions/ideas that would possibly be interesting to viewers for our web hosting. We are looking to give away a few domain names 100% free of cost for the first year. We are looking at the best way to do it fairly. What are some of your suggestions? The domains would be registered with USHost247.com.

I see that in this hosting industry, many guys usually offer new coupons/discounts/events continuously to attract new customers and keep them using by renewal discounts/coupons. IMO

Yes, most of the web hosts are providing a free domain name for a year with hosting plan.
I think you can do the same by providing cheap domain purchase. I do not know which one is the best but I saw many people had the question about cheap domain name registrar.

If possible you can offer both with and without hosting plans where they can purchase a domain name in low price and free domain name with hosting.

Coupon codes are also best where you get the chance to present your site on coupon directory where people will definitely find your store.

I think almost all hosting services are providing the first domain name for free. So if you want to give it away fairly, I suggest you to create a countdown event, people register and their names are shown in the list. Then you might spin their names to chose the winner - like lottery.

I would say let them register and choose s freedomin of their choice something like USHostFreedomain.org or .UShost.com

The domains would be registered with USHost247.com.

Does that mean you own the domain and will charge them later on to get the rights to it ?
We would register the domain to their account as if the user bought the domain. Only issue is users that would abuse this and sign up, not even use the service, immediately cancel and want to take the domain.

A lot of hosts offer free domains so I don't think that would attract that many users. It also depends what your offer is. If you are offering hosting for $2 per month and get a free domain, then that is an extremely attractive offer. However, if it is like $10 per month, then the free domain is a pretty average offer. The hosting industry is tough these days since there are so many hosts around. When I choose hosts, I don't really look at their offers but instead look at their support, uptime and reviews so I think it is more important to improve these areas.

Yes, my initial plan was to offer a few free domains for users signing up for even the starter package at $1.95/month. Trying to think of a way that I could prevent abuse from those that would sign up, get the domain and use our 30 day money back policy and still have the domain.
