What do you think of prostitution? I think it's a persons choice but should be safe.

I agree, but if someone chooses to and is really desperate, then i think it's ok.

Not really. They live in the worst conditions and get treated badly, why do you think its against the law.

Well technically its not no, but with laws round it it sort of makes it hard to be legal.

Is prostitution illegal?
The law is complicated. The act of one consenting adult paying another for sex is NOT actually illegal. So, a woman who works on her own, in her own house and charges people for sex is NOT breaking the law.

But the laws that exist around it make it almost impossible to carry out prostitution legally.

To put it as simply as possible...
Brothels are illegal - that's a room where more than one woman works - even if they work on different days or at different times. A massage parlour is normally a classier name for a brothel.
It's also illegal to live off immoral earnings - that could include pimps, massage parlour managers, and receptionists.

It's illegal to advertise for sexual services - though not to advertise massage or escort services like those in the papers and on the internet. It's also quite likely that people renting a house and using it as a brothel are committing planning and tenancy offences. At a street level it's illegal to solicit for trade, and curb-crawling is illegal.

It might be in the US, i dunno. As for ad van1lla, i'm not an expert lol. Well, the ways it's done do break the law, but i think it shouldn't be illegal, but brothels should be shut down if the prostitutes get STD's

I'm not sure what it is, but it sounds illegal, seeing as child trafficking is illegal.

Its where people mainly young girls 16 - 29 say are brought into this country and made to be prostitutes, and all the money they earn goes to the people who brought them into the country.

So they just wanted to come here for a visit or nice life but instead get brought here for the sex industry.

Believe it or not, some people have to...

I agree with efc. Unfortunately nowadays more children and teenagers are being bought up in abusive atmospheres. Their parents beat them when they get back from school, they are treated like dirt - and that's just the start of it. In some circumstances children are sexually abused by their parents and even left to starve in the corner of a tacky room.

For these children, a good education is more or less non-existant. Without an education, they have next to no chance of getting a decent job, and many charities nowadays sadly do not support these youngsters.

In the most case, this is what leads to prostitution. People are forced to do whatever they can to provide themselves with a basic income - even if it means losing their standards and exposing themselves to strangers.

No one should have to sell themselves for money.

It's very well saying that when you've been bought up with a roof over your head, a bed to sleep in at night, meals provided for you and for nothing. Have you ever spent a moment thinking about what life is like for these children for have literally nothing?

You're right in thinking that people shouldn't have to sell themselves for money, but ass i've just explained - they in fact have to.

On the other hand, when it comes to sluts who sell themselves just for a good time...i don't care for them and quite frankly i hope they get HIV.

Well, we live in a messed up society these days. I so want capital punishment to be reintroduced reading your post Christian, maybe it would put the slightest bit of discipline into society

I didnt say they dont, i said they shouldnt. Different word, different meaning, and i dont mean they shouldnt do it out of choice i mean the government spend more money helping people like this than giving to other countries.

It's not the government's responsibility to make sure parents don't abuse their children, or to make sure charities are helping people. This is entirely the reason we have organizations such as the NSPCC .

I personally think you should be able to do whatever you want with your own body. If they want to have sex for money, then let them. It would be smart if they used protection though.

What some people don't realise is that some people 'whore' themselves out, because they were in abusive relationships and they need to prove to themselves they're still physically attractive.
