Are you proud of your heritage?

I like bluegrass music, country cooking, mountain hiking etc. and no doubt that was influenced by growing up in the southern Appalachian mountains. Anyway, it's probably a forced culture indoctrination, but it's fun anyway. 😃 Should it be?

I guess my heritage is white middle England which is kind of boring really. I've always gravitated towards other cultures. I particularly love Irish folk music and the entire culture there. I can relate to that far more than my English background.

I'm actually into a lot of cultures. I don't feel like I have to be all from my culture only, but my birth culture has had a big influence.

I'm not into other cultures as a fad. I am really serious and real about it.

Not really. You don't get to choose what race / ethnicity or heritage you're born into. Why should I be proud of something I didn't have any control over? Why should I make others feel lesser-than because they're not part of the exclusive club I happened to be born into? What I am proud of is the tangible achievements I have accomplished myself through hard work and dedication.

People like to tell some brats they were born with a silver spoon, but being born in a rich country is one, by itself
