Well today a user suggested that my forum have a arcade, he gave some good ideas with this, but I have a awesome site and I don't want something small to screw it all up. I wanted to know, is adding a arcade to a forum good?

It would depend on what the forum is about. For example, you and I both have laid-back chatting communities, so an arcade might be a good thing to add. I know of an online friend who runs an entertainment community, and he had an arcade, and I always enjoyed playing the "Classics" after I was finished posting for the day but I didn't want to leave the site yet, so that was a good thing as well. It can also be good for advertising forums as well, so people can take a break from posting and advertising their boards, so really, I don't even think there is a bad exception, to be honest. Almost any forum could have an arcade. Unless of course it was based on a serious discussion like debates or Religion, then it would be out of the question. At the end of the day, it's up to you as to what you want. If you feel an arcade would be a good thing, go ahead and add it. If not, that's okay too, but remember to tell your members politely why you're not adding it, in case they ask.

What I do is make it to where you can even play the arcade, you have to have 3 posts from that day. So all the arcade lovers are free to play as many games as they want, provided all they do is post 3 times that day. It's a very good feature that my members love.

Absolutely. However, don't add it immediately if your forum is new. Always wait until more members join and the community becomes larger. Then you can consider adding one.

Hmm... It depends of the game. You should see how much space the games will take up first, remove any used space from your forum, and then place them in.

Well I myself like arcades and always add them.
Only downside I have seen with them,is some members start to just play the arcade.

Definitely get an arcade. It gives members something else to do rather than post, or chat (if you have a chatbox). It makes a forum more of a community. I've added the chatbox and only saw positive results. Posts made per day didn't decrease what so ever, it won't impact activity negatively, well, it didn't in my situation.
Well I mean the downfall is why I didnt add a chatbox, because I admit i am not a pro with phpbb. I screw up a lot fast. So that is why chat room placements is currently under work :\
