Yeah, I know everyone is probably like..OMG AGAIN?? Haha, yes. I got pulled over once again on my motorcycle. This time, its not speeding, not dimming lights, wreckless driving or anything. Its my blue lights(neons). I've now been pulled 7 times for my neons.

Summary of what happen:

I was going down hwy 55 and then a cop passes me, I look in mirror and see him stopping in middle of road to turn around. He stomps on it and Im sitting there hurrying trying to turn to turn my lights off and book it to my house. But when I got to my road, he already had me.

He got out explaining the law about blue and stuff like that. He finally shut up and then 4 other cops came...seriously! One from out of town! I'm sitting there saying "Whats up?" lol. They werent too fond of that. But I did get one to say "Nothing much, those lights are nice and look cool but cant have them"

So the cop turns around talking to another cop about some girl that he just got off call from (two ex's fighting) and then started talking about how a girl had brand new mustang with blue lights. (strobes) Mine do not strobe. So I'm just standing there...uhh can I leave? He said " Oh! Your free to go." "Oh WAIT, let me see your motorcycle license just to say I looked at them. *laughs*" Then I come home...

Heres my lights:

Just tell them it's an aid to your safety on the road in the dark, and how would they feel if you got t-boned after their insistence you turn them off ?

That's a bummer. You should've removed your lights after you were pulled over for the first (or at least second) time though.

The law is there for a reason. The lights can draw attention of others on the road and stop them from focusing on actually driving.

Luckily you did not seem to get a ticket for the infraction.

if people get distracted by blue light's that are not that bad at all. You don't need to be on the road the first place .

Your eyes are drawn to things that stand out. It may not distract you for long but any time spent not focused on driving can be a hazard.

Let me ask you this. You are walking through a group of people and everyone is a brunette. You come across someone with purple and green hair, does that not stand out and catch your eye. In that split second you could miss something on the ground and trip, walk into something or someone, etc. Now apply that to statistically the most dangerous thing you can do in normal life.

I personally have no real opinion on the law, but if it is a law then you should obey it.

Next time, ask the cop if you can see his gun for a second.

Damn dude, cops must love you lol. Almost got busted today, got lucky though

I saw those lights in the pics of yours and I can see why they aren't allowed to be on. First thing I thought of were those motorcycles that police officers sometimes ride. So I can see why they'd be distracting.

Do you wish for me to get arrested? rofl.
No, seriously. Just ask him, "Hey, could I see your gun for a second? I promise I won't use it for any violent purposes." I'm sure he'll believe you.

Neon lights are illegal on cars and bikes here. You have been extremely lucky to get away with not even a ticket. 7 times is pushing your luck a little. You should know the law if you have passed your test!

So do girls wearing short skirts, bill boards, shop signs, but they don't ban those.

In the UK we have lots of people customising their cars with these lights, as far as I know it's not illegal over here providing they are not white or can be confused with driving lights.

I'm with you on that. There are thousands of things that would distract me more than blue lights.

Glad you didn't get fined Chris.

I agree that there are too many things out there to grab the attention of drivers, and billboards are made exactly for that purpose. I personally don't care if people have lights under their car, but the law deems it to be a distraction, and the law is the law.
