Putting Adsense by chat box

I'm thinking about adding a chat box to our forum. And, would like to place Adsense near the chat box as it could be a highly used area. Is it allowable to put Adsense near a chat box? There are restrictions for Adsense that say you can only place in a content area/page. Would a chat box be considered a content area? How could I compensate to make this area more content rich, so Adsense would be acceptable?

I would say its allowed, just as long as its not exactly inside the chatbox. If you have it in its own table outside of the chatbox, but around it then you should be fine.

Tricking people into clicking something by placing it in a chatbox would be violation of adsense and would result in being banned from adsense.

That is the main point. It needs to have padding around the ads so there are no accidental clicks.

Don't put it into the chat message or inside the post. You can put anywhere else. The only think you need to remember is you the ads shouldn't be shown as the main content.
