Hello, friends! I'd like to inform you about a couple events that are happening on Petalburg Woods right now.
The first is our annual birthday extravaganza event. This is the third year we've run it, and it occurs each year in July and August. PWN will be three years old on August 18th of this year, and we've come a long way since then. The event itself consists of a variety of things; there's going to be art events, writing events, RP events, and more! Our large scale RPGs will also be taking part in the event. All members, especially the participants, are also encouraged to post a lot as there may be something special involved with that. There's (hopefully) going to be something for everyone! Members have three options this year when it comes to the teams: create their own team and recruit other members and free agents, become a free agent and be recruited to a team, or be randomly placed onto a team. There is a general information thread here, and we also have a general discussion thread here.
Members who wish to create their own teams should check out this thread for more information. You will need a minimum of five members, yourself included, to be officially considered a team. There is a cap of eight people, but you can have two people beyond that cap before you can't accept any new members. The cap and the buffer will be raised as teams are created and they fill up.
Members who wish to be a free agent or randomly placed on a team should check out this thread. The difference between free agents and those that wish to be randomly placed on a team is that free agents can be recruited to a team whereas those that wish to be randomly placed on a team will be randomly placed onto existing teams. Those being randomly placed on a team are also called random selections. The initial randomizing process will take place on July 31st, and any new members that join on or after August 1st can be randomly placed on a team if they don't join one of their own accord. Members that join on or after August 1st that wish to be randomly placed on a team will be randomly placed as soon as possible. Priority will be given to the smallest teams and/or those that lack a certain skill set so that everyone is on a level playing field.
Much of the team set up will be occurring between July 1st and July 31st. The randomization process will occur on July 31st. Any new members that wish to be randomized will be randomly placed on a team as soon as possible. Actual events will be going up on August 1st, and the first events will go until August 15th. The second phase of events will be from August 16th to August 31st. Some events may be on a different schedule, but many events will be between August 1st to the 15th and August 16th to the 31st. There will be participation awards for everyone and a special award for the highest scorers on a team, and other awards may be distributed as applicable.
Also this year, in conjunction with the event, we're running a referral contest! By referring your friends (and possibly your future teammates?!) to PWN, you'll get points for your team. When you've referred someone, have them put your name down as a referrer when registering, and also have them post in the aforementioned thread so that you can get the points. The more friends you invite, then more points you can get! This event runs now until August 31st.
