I'm a bit unsure about something. Does getting more members and posts help your search engine ranking? :great:

Indirectly, yes. However, as far as I know it doesn't have a direct effect. Any benefits you get would come from the increase in activity and content. Search engines want to see that your site isn't dead, and that your content is relevant and unique. That's pretty much the bulk of what SEO is, in a nutshell.

Yeah, I would like to say what Pandaa said..it's more about the content that is on the forum. This is what gets the forum indexed (listed on the search results). The better the content, the better your ranking in a very basic explanation.

I would recommend this guide made by Google. It is what i used when I started out! 😀

I would disagree to the direct question asked - a website with more members will not always rank better in search engines. I am not very familiar with Google updates for forums, but for other websites visitors does not help to improve keyword ranking in search engines.

Yes and no. Google likes to see more traffic to a site, and will rank a site better due to more (consistent) traffic. However, traffic is a pretty small part of SEO (unless you're getting hundreds of thousands of visits per month).

As stated previously, more content, frequently updated content, and relevant content will be your best boost for SEO. Combine that with backlinks, and you will be doing great.

More posts mean more content and that could help SEO. However it also depends on the quality of the content and not the quantity. Having more members itself have close to no effect on SEO.
