How come the forums with the most ridiculous things seem to attract more people?

Well could you show an example of this? I don't see how that happens.

It really depends on the community, and what content the forum offers. Any forum, no matter the theme, or look, can be great; just takes a devoted community and staff team.

I hope this isn't a question, because you think your forum should be doing better than others.

Everyone has different taste and preferences. 😉

No it has nothing to do with that. Was just curious is all. I have had a hundred or more forums not all at once and all have failed so its not anything new to me. Its hard to find a niche when it comes to creating a forum because there is not a subject out there that a forum as not been started on.

Well in my opinion I find those so called odd forums or website more entertaining for two reasons.

One they normally are about one thing.

They also normally have a nice mod team that is active.

You now need to find out how to mould around that niche and chosen theme to be different from competitors. It is actually easier to beat your rivals then most people think, especially if you advertise like mad, do post/member exchanges and strive to be in the top ten in SERP's.

Lol, this struck me as odd. Of course the weirdest forums attract people. When you see some guy in a chicken suit dancing on the street, everyone looks, and it ends up on Youtube within the hour. People like weird, people like different, people crave things that are unique.

When I had Blue Humor before, the entire point was being as weird as possible, and I had a loyal user base. The new Blue Humor will focus on something even better, annoying schools and authority as much as legally possible. For example, we will have a public arcade which tends to annoy teachers and school network people, and i'll be sure to let everyone in on my secret to getting around school blocks using Google of all things (which they can't really block ~lol~ ). We'll also have a sharing section for any music or movies you want to share, help out the community.

We are also looking into offering other things, and the entire forum will be free speech, because of where we're getting hosting from ~razz~

So yeah, unique is good. Just find out how to make your forum stand out and attract attention.

People may be attract to those forum because they have something unique about them. Like Traygon said it is ease to beat your rivals if your forum has something unique and you never give up on it. I am going to start a Call of Duty forum even if they are 2 BIG forum about it but I going try to make my forum as unique as I can and hopeful it will attract lot of people.

Also Ghost I can't wait for Blue Humor to be open, I have being trying to get around school blocks but have no luck.
