What program do you guys use, photoshop, illustrator or something else. I use photoshop and I can't get the graphics like you guys. Does illustrator have more tools or something.

Most of the graphics staff here use Photoshop either version CS2 or CS3.

They use lots of things such as different brushes, different fonts different renders and filters. Just mess about a bit.

The best way you can learn is experiment. 🙂

Regards Jason 🙂

YEah, ive been messin around with it and I finally mastered the gradent tool which is how I mostly did the banner in my signature but not so hot with everything else.

Your lucky, i still need to master gradient, but i am best at filters. Example the signature i made that you see below was mostly made by filters and one brush.

I use Photoshop CS3 Extended beacuse of it's 3D input content. I also use Vue d'esprit 6 Extreme for 3D rendering, Poser 6 for figure work and a little bit of 3DS max.

PS is by far the most versatile image editing software. There are loads of free sites offering everything from plugins (makes PS do other tasks like icons or .ico for windows) Brushes (shaped brushes everything from grunge to trees or any image can be made into a brush), filters (everything from blur to warp). You also have layer filters within the layer panel that allow you to do things like stroke (add a colour band around a selected object like text), simple bevel and emboss (make it look 3D) to gradiants that fade colours over your selected layer and many many more.

There are also many many good tutorial sites you just need to google "photoshop tutorials" to reveal thousands tutorialised is a very good site. It's also a good idea to have a good Font site at hand something like DaFont is very good, stock images and "game" or "image" renders can also be easily found with a quick scout on the net.

But mostly Jason A is correct play with CS and see what you can come up with by mixing layer styles with filters, just take it slowly so you remeber what your doing to produce that cool look, or use the "history" tool to remind you of each action. Also ask questions never be afraid to ask for help no matter at what level you are at you can always learn something new, dont be afraid of constructive critisism as long as its constructive.

Most of all Have fun and I look forward to seeing your work 😀

I don't create graphics, but to edit my avatars etc.. I use Photo Shop CS2.

Illustrator is amazing but it's really only good for making stuff like fresh and designed purely by you, photoshop is like the finishing touch and best program to use.

Right im going to move this now

Im not part of the graphics staff, but besides photoshop there's GIMP, usually used for any and all Linux users. But there is a Windows version to play with I believe. And it's free and open source.
