I don't necessarily agree with this guy. However, I can sympathize with his skepticism. How do you feel about his beliefs? Do you all feel he simply can't take having a terminal illness?

I watched some of the video, skipping through here and there and here is what I have gleaned...

The hosts as well as the guest have a wrong idea of WHO God is.

The expectation by them comes from not knowing Him. They don't understand, nor accept how severe the consequences of sin is, nor knowing that God doesn't promise us to have a perfectly happy, rich life here on earth. The joy mentioned in the Bible comes from the joy of having salvation, which is to be resurrected and live eternally with God.

There was a lot of broad brushes being cast as well, which is difficult to take someone seriously once they go down that path.

At the beginning the guest made a claim that most Christians don't...blah blah blah. Maybe HIS congregation didn't do that because HE wasn't a good shepherd for them.

The guest was a former charismatic preacher. I think I missed the part where he spoke about his educational background? From my experience on numerous Christian forums and dealing with charismatics, they don't require any training for someone to become a pastor. It's pretty much based on, "The Holy Spirit called me to preach so I stood up and did it". That could be a reason why this guy didn't understand the HISTORY of Christianity either. Did he even go to seminary?

So many things were wrong about the statements made in the video and it would take a long time to go through them step by step. But here's the gist of it. There are people who do turn from God who were once "on fire" for Him. Just as there are people who turn TO God who once hated the idea of a supreme being. One video of someone claiming there is no God doesn't make it true.

Jesus and most of the apostles were tortured and executed at the same time.

I think that history states that John was the only disciple who wasn't executed?

That guy, despite lack of training, should have at least known that.

I guess there are people who go on shows like that claiming to have some type of authority. At the beginning the guy even stated that he didn't get the answers he wanted which is why he turned away from God.

That's his problem that he expected God to tell him all.

The guy ended up with a disease and was upset that God didn't heal him. That's pretty much what happened. So then he hated God. And then he got back at God by saying he no longer believed any a supreme being. Now he's spreading false information to try to sway others away from God.

But here's the thing, remember that as much as the Israelites kept turning away from God in the Old Testament, God kept turning them back and kept a remnant of believers.

Lots of people don't get what they want. Imagine what it's like for soldiers in a war. How about children dying of cancer etc.?

I think it's more likely that the diagnosis of a terminal illness can have a profound effect on a person's thinking and beliefs and it works both ways. Non-believers might look towards various faiths to help ease the pain of an impending death.

I think the doctrine of eternal hell has turned many from God and very justifiably. Well, how do we know it wasn't put in there from pagan sources? Universalists think this is the case. I must agree, but fundamentalists think this view is soft and ridicule it, lol.

Most people claim and go and on and on how they found the right religion, mainly Christians and Muslims.

If there are over 40,000 some gods, some of them would be as intolerant in comparison to the Christian God is to a Hindu worshiping the wrong god. The Christian god is explicit in worshiping other gods. In fact it is rule number one from the commandments. ‘‘Thou shalt have no other gods before me.’’

However, many of the other religions are the exact same way. Pick the wrong god and there may be an express ticket to hell in those religions.
