The Book Nook
A Q&A with Bazinga! and Atrox
Questionnaire:
What do you think of the new "theme" we're using on the forum?

By that, I suppose you mean the Christmas/Winter theme. Honestly, it's a few days shy of December but the theme looks good. It is quite "fresh" as it hasn't been commonly seen on many boards and it's very easy on the eyes. It isn't really book related in any way, but I suppose you won't have the theme up for very long. Overall, the theme looks rather pretty but you should probably sort out the image with the cover of "Thirteen Reasons Why" as it looks untidy and misplaced.
What do you think can be done to improve the "Statistics & Activity" of the forum?

Really, I'd normally suggest you order a package or start doing post exchanges with members, but that's already been done. A Book forum isn't the easiest to promote and get new members to join as post, so I respect that you work hard to promote the forum. I think that you should look for existing book discussion forums that allow you to promote your forum so that you have a much bigger chance of attracting the attention of people that would actually like the genre of your forum. Because sadly, not many people on Forum Promotion seem to like book forums. Also, I'm not sure if you have done this yet, but hosting a posting competition and posting it the "What is Going On?" forum here. You should also try to offer whatever prizes you can that might tempt people to come and join in with the competition.
What would you change about the forum or do differently if you were the owner?

Honestly, if it were my forum I'd have in the first place, used MyBB as I feel it is a much nicer forum software than ZB. But if I were to take control of your forum right now I'd look to purchase a theme for the forum if I could find one and then get a domain name. I think that if people see that you're willing to put money into the forum they're more likely to join it because they know that you're interested quite a lot. The more you put in, the more you're likely get out in terms of members and posts. I'd also look for some more active moderators rather than the ones you have now, and ones that are willing to put hours into the forum and post content as well as helping you advertise and spread the word.
